Similar thing happened to the Deep Sea Anglerfish. The females are about the size of an American football, the males are about the size of your thumbnail. They are so different in size and look that it was actually believed they were different species. Even weirder in mating the males will attach themselves to the females and live out the rest of their lives as a parasite. It has been observed that one female can have up to three males attached. This works well, especially in the nutrient-poor deep sea, because it's a damn good source of sperm while saving energy for the dad.

@robxholicfoxyfan85522 жыл бұрын
@@silverg2862 Nah, though I think some instincts do have flaws. Sticking to fish instead of cats or capybaras for Pelicans is the logical idea but Pelicans have little brain capacity and try eating things way too big for them, let alone the aggressive ones. Capybaras don't fight back but also just vibe even as the bill clamps on them with no effect. Cats as most cat owners will tell you aren't usually going to take getting potentially swallowed sitting down unless they just don't give a heck about annoyances. I can't blame an animal for following instinct, but I am not going to be surprised at any consequences that occur due to said instinct getting it oh so wrong.

glad to see "Ants: Underground Kingdom" getting sponsored, I play that game a lot. (I run with an alliance that used to be in the top 10 before they merged a lot of players with a clan in the top 5) Honestly Ant politics in that game is wild, a clan constantly butting heads with the most powerful clan of our server (UKR) takes up half of the in game chat.

Hey, the ant one! I actually saw this in my own backyard. The oppressors had rolled up the weaker ants into a ball and were carrying them in a line across the grass. Yards and yards of them. They were also carrying the eggs and larvae. I wondered what the heck was happening. The nest the black ants were being carried to also had dead bodies of their comrades laying outside.
@errortryagainlater42402 жыл бұрын
That's insane. Legit acting like a medieval human army with kidnapped slaves. Istg the ants in my childhood garden used to launch strategic attacks on other insects, they'd corner bigger bugs and then drag them back to the nest.
@returnoftheromans67262 жыл бұрын
@@errortryagainlater4240 Interesting. Yeah, it's a scary world in the bug life. Even if you are pretty high on the insect food chain, like ants, there is still something bigger and slavery isn't always out of the question. So weird.

I live in a Big Ass City in Italy, and the park by my house has sooooo many nutrias, and I just can't be angry about it. I just love them so much, and considering part of my job is to walk dogs in that park, the entertainment a dog that has NEVER seen a nutria can provide is enough to love all nutrias indiscriminately, even if I know that one day the canal shore will collapse under my feet because of their dens, and I'll end up in some of the most disgusting water possible XD

Learnt a new thing. When I saw the nutria, I thought it’d be an otter (that’s what nutria means in Spanish), but with those incisors it looked more like a beaver. Well, I checked and I learned that in the English language you only call “nutria” that weird South American giant rodent I didn’t even knew existed (coypu). Interesting. Weird, though.

I was terrified when I learnt that pelicans and even seagulls will basically eat anything and anyone they can. >_>; The seagull swallowing a hare whole haunts me.
@blahorgaslisk77632 жыл бұрын
When I was a kid my parents used to fish. I remember one time when they had caught a huge cod that my father cleaned up on the beech. He always did this a fair bit from the boat as the moment he started the seagulls would turn up. Later we sat and watched as a seagull tried to swallow the head of that huge cod. It must have weighed almost as much as the seagull and yet it eventually managed to get it down. It couldn't fly however and didn't seem to really like the situation. Don't remember what happened to it but I will never forget the pain it went through swallowing that head. At another time we actually had a seagull following our boat from island to island for about a week. It was easy to recognize as it had one eye ripped out. It was pretty well behaved, for a seagull, but still couldn't keep quiet when my father cleaned out a few fish, and immediately it had fierce competition for the food. Not the smartest birds on a per individual level, but it's probably good for the species. No matter who finds food the most fit will fight their way to it. Natural selection at it's finest.
@m0ri4612 жыл бұрын
This reminds me of deer tbh. Same vibes, they will literally eat small rodents or even baby birds if theyre on the ground. Theyre omnivorous and will eat whatevers in front of them whem grazing. Saw a video of one reaching into a birds nest and stealing the baby birds one time. Horrific. A lot of animals are so much scarier than youd ever imagine.

That messed up pelican was something I am surprised dosen't happen fairly regularly considering how they try to swallow live prey who have claws and beaks that are invested in getting out of that pouch before death takes them, but it was impressive to see the result of a successful escape! JFC, not only are you rapidly becoming one of my top 5 channels to view, you even featured a game that I might actually want to try on my phone presuming it's not brutally pay-to-win, cos homie don't play dat.

Pelicans rarely put something in their mouth that they clearly cannot actually eat. When that does happen, though, the consequences are disastrous.
