Dominque keeps talking about the pass rush, Lions had 3 sacks none were by Hutch.. The pocket was collapsed on Geno all night and he made incredible throws in a phonebooth. I think that is an extremely lazy narrative. First half the defense was solid coming up and tackling, making the Seahawks have long drives to get down there, The penalties were really the biggest issue. Lions were up by 2 scores the majority of the game and were playing softer in the second half when Geno and the run game got cooking. Same as last year for the lions, solid defense to start when they played aggressive, backed off when they got the lead and let the opposing teams get back in it. They made the NFC championship last year with a by far worse defense. They should get even better down the stretch but the pass rush narrative is just so lazy. Also the double standards in "Lions offense was playing against practice squad" vs "Lions defense is so bad + I'm so impressed with Seattle's offense they're amazing!!" Hate the annoying fan comment in me but dang! I feel like no one talks this way about other teams. No one said they're worried about buffalo's defense getting rolled by ravens offense lol

Just an echo to what has been written here previously. The absolute obstinate refusal to acknowledge a tremendous and singular performance by Jared Goff and the Lions players remains a puzzle to me. Every other QB (possibly Purdy as an exception) gets/has gotten all the praise and adoration from the Disney owned Extra Sensory Pundits Network for play on the field except Jared Goff over the past 5 years, or since the McVay Rams dump in late 2020. He's accomplished historic achievements for two franchises, not just one, over his 8 plus year career. His current head coach has been maligned from the beginning of his tenure and seems to you two to simply be a motivational speaker rather than a brilliant tactician of the game who can delegate and manage brilliant position coaches on his staff. The praise for Kyler, Baker, Joe, Lamar, Josh, CJ, Jalen, Dak, Kirk, Matthew, Justin, Trevor, Jordan, Anthony, Caleb and now Jayden is always effusive to the individual player while shortcomings seem to always fall on the various coaching staffs inability to harness such other-worldly talents. For Jared Goff it has always been just the opposite. No singular achievement of his has ever been perceived by the Extra Sensory Pundits to be anything more than the brilliant extension of the Vulcan Mind Meld by either the head coach or Offensive Coordinator. Your backhanded compliments and knife in the back smiles while having to acknowledge yet another record setting performance by Goff and then denigrating the player in the process is really tired and appears more malicious by the day. You are both absolutely wrong in your assessments.

Goff played well, but there weren't many throws he made that were actually that impressive. He was in a great situation all game long thanks to his offensive line and running backs. He faced very little pressure and put very few balls in tight windows, mostly because he didn't have to. 18-18 is nothing to scoff at, but equal credit should go to the o-line, run game, and coaches.

Reality check.....it was a 2 score game for the majority of the 2nd half if I remember correctly. I know that the 3-0 record got Seahawks fans thinking maybe they were an unexpected powerhouse, but when you look at who they beat and how, they have to wake up the reality which is that it might be more likely than not that they dont make the playoffs at all & if they do, it will come down to the wire if things go their way. They are good but far from a contender like the Lions. Its a long season & that was the first loss of MANY coming for Seattle.

Geno had to play amazing because of the lions defense, which is improved but *see sentence 1. Acknowledging that it is easier for the lions to get yard instead of giving up control of the game (literally) is a drastically different judgement than "I don't trust my defense". 50 plays 42 points that's a QB and offense completely dismantling a defense. Seattle just couldn't hang and it's not they aren't good, Geno did all he could they just couldn't overcome their defense getting taken behind the woodshed. Lions needed to get 4 quarters of run and pass efficiency and finally they did. They knew they were underperforming the first 3 games.
