Uzolimala. Understand one thing that the different dance styles that come from SA are from different traditional dances and the ladies and gentlemen that you see dancing grew up with it, handed down from generation to generation, they danced when they were conceived, in their mummys tummies, started dancing it when they were toddlers, in kindergarten, primary etc. Just like the amapiano beat they grew with it. Now how do you think you can teach people to dance something you learned from social media? You look ridiculous stay in your lane. Soon you people will be claiming to have made the dance popular. Amapiano is like any other dance form. Just because it's from SA enobuntu that doesn't mean you now have to take it for granted. Why don't you teach ballet but feel you can teach Amapiano dances.

Greetings. Thank you for the background on your traditional dance, I'm going to continue researching it. That's what led me here, so far. I couldn't help but notice your offensive posture toward the young sister. As a Black AFRICAN born in America, I am SO passionate about not only reclaiming my bloodlines rituals, traditions, & way of life...i.e culture; I am also passionate about discovering & respectfully enjoying the same about our brother's and sister's from the larger African family that we are. My question is, do you feel this young lady has ill intention by enjoying and being excited enough to want to show others what she has learned about a traditional dance of her SA neighbors? (or again, larger African family) I do strongly believe that we should respect and protect our traditions fiercly from those who would try to do it harm, insiders and outsiders. So I'd genuinely love to know why it was offensive to you? Your traditional dance is no doubt trending, so, it was intentionally shared with the world. Are we not to enjoy it, respectfully? ❤

@@virtuousjewel4904 first of all respect is key in everything that we do or say. If you are not going to first atleast attempt to learn my culture in this its language and dance, as a sign of respect. Its important that when you are interested in a culture especially when you want to benefit from it financially. Its important that atleast give it the respect it deserves by attempting to get it from the originators eg thus you visit the area, e.g. Mansa Mayne he came to SA and inter acted with our people learned the language, culture etc. Now just like you were complaining about a certain social media platform, which was benefitting from your sweat. Same as in our case, people are benefitting financially from our culture, by not even representing our culture correctly. Our dance just like any dance form has rules and if you consulted the originators you would know. SAns are very welcoming and sharing people, but that said it doesn't mean that they must be taken advantage of. What happens here, people just copy the dance moves from social mediums, then go around giving dance lessons or create content as if they're now specialists when they're not even doing it right. The question I would like to ask you is would you learn eg ballet dance from social media and then go around teaching people how to dance it or perform on world stage? I don't think so because you're not an expert, it takes years and years of practice of learning. Just like AmaPiano it's years and years of practice and just like ballet its got rules, and even the physical appearance and style are equally important.
