I grease my coulters every 40 hrs but just with 2 or 3 shots so the seals are not get disturbed. My combine cost $10,000 for the rear engine seal and drive coupler, hope yours is less. In Texas our forecast for the rest of September is mostly 53 in the mornings and 83 in the afternoons because of our almost 4,000 ft elevation. Our starch line is halfway to the cob or 3 weeks to blacklayer . The kernels are much longer because we use hybrids that fill during 1400 GDUs after silk to make 300 bu/ac. with 31,000 stand. We fill the heavy kernel in the time it takes for your crop to go from knee high to frost. Keeping the plant health to the end is our secret.
