What sets your videos apart from all the other "farmer" videos is Becky's superb editing skills. So many of the other vids are disjointed, filled with obnoxious cover music and just not edited very well. Way to go Becky!

Spacers are there to increase the bolt length enough to get a "stretch" on the bolt when you torque it. The stretch is what keeps the bolt from coming loose! I actually designed the tooling that makes the bolts and spacers! Made in the USA! Made in Wisconsin actually!

Had a dual fall off my combine this harvest and dealer had to come out and put it back on, sheared all the Bolts off and they said it was likely that the wheel studs were loose from the paint on the mating surface of the wheel chipping away. They said they always grind the paint off on new machines or new wheels and they don't have any issues after that. Just something to take into consideration!

the spacers on your combine wheel studs are to increase the effective clamping load of each bolt. in applications where short bolts are required, using a spacer and a longer bolt allows the bolt to stretch/flex more before before breaking. great videos, keep them coming.

The spacer is there to create extra length for a longer bolt. The longer the bolt the more stretch under torque the bolt will have. The more stretch it has under load the less likely it will back off and run loose. But for some reason Deere struggles with combine duals staying on 🤦‍♂️

Between Lincoln and Omaha Nebraska and areas to the south I manage land in, we had corn anywhere from 25 to 54 bushel beans and corn that ranged from 94 to 217 bushel. All dryland, around 10" or more less than last year. Hail storms hit some of the area in june around V4 in corn after it dried we didnt' see much of anything for rainfall. The cracks in the ground are wide enough to put your hand in and go down feet plural. A garden hose in our hard will go down at least 18" and run for multiple minutes without ever seeing the water. Crop scout in late August said we had little to no moisture at the 3 foot level.

Heard you say cameras would dust over with in minuets in the grain bins. They'll come a time where you kids will have to climb the ladders. You and your Dad will be grounded! Before that, could you install a compresser near the bin's and put a manifold on it with 1/4" lines running to each bin to where you would put a camera? Control each line with a solenoid on each leg on the manifold. Have them controled where ever you would watch a screen. Push a button to blast the lens clear of the dust enough to see what is going on. It would be a much easier step to take.

Great content as always, thank you. You mentioned video cameras in the grain bins do not work because the dust would settle on them. Would it be worth setting up an airline to blow the dust off? A connector in the control room to each camera, quick blow with the airline and you should have the view, without all the climbing.

Well, I hope you yield improves and those nasty Arctic temps go up to where you need them to be. As well as that darn struggle bus goes to the scrap yard soyou have a nice hassle free remaining harvest season. I watch your channel and Larson Farms channel and having grown up in the small Michigan farm town in the 60's and 70's it absolutely amazes me how big and complex tractors and combines have become. I can remember when farm equipment always had the right ofcway when moving equipment during planting and harvest season. 14 and farm kids got passes to work on the farm at those times. It's why they had the neatest home built 4 wheelers with a bed to haul parts and tools to do emergency repairs and deliver lunch and dinner nice and hot. My first Boy Scout Scoutmaster had a large farm and once you were 14 he'd hire kids tohelp with the permission of their parents part time after school. Especially harvesting hay. Did that one summer never again. Those darn bales were heavy to sing around.
