+USA Hardcore Fan Great crowd and as a proud St. Louisan I'm glad we showed that we care so much about the USMNT for a game with not whole lot of meaning to be honest... However the USMNT fans didn't do a good job of applauding in certain circumstances. For instance they never applauded when we got the ball out of tight, uncomfortable areas or make nice, cross field passes. Fans in Europe do that because they know it took effort from the players.

Most gridiron football stadiums are an acceptable compromise, since the field is, after all, *rectangular*. In baseball stadiums, they literally shove the football pitch in the corner, miles away from half the seats.

I'm hoping Nagbe starts next match. SVG is basically a college team. TnT will be much tougher and will press a lot. US cannot have two players on the field with a rough first touch. Nagbe keeps the ball very well under a lot of pressure. Jurgen needs to give him a start to give US the best chance of getting a result at Port of Spain.

We played well. Definitely had a rough start, but as the game went on we controlled the game more and more. Fabian needs to be our left mid, we gotta find a solid and consistent back four, that's our main weakness. Good to see Jozy getting a few goals too

USA definitely is getting better in being more assertive in possesion, but what pisses me off time and time again is how the back 4 just gets absolutely embarrassed by long balls when it shouldn't be happening. There's always going to be a chance for other teams if they catch them sleeping.

Why is it that Concacaf qualifying for the 2018 World Cup started in 2015, but for the 2022 WC, Qualifying starts in 2020?

The 2022 World Cup starts in November because it would be too hot for Qatar to host in the summer (they shouldn't be hosting at all but that's another discussion). Also, CONCACAF have just announced the new formula for WCQ. The top 6 ranked teams (as determined by FIFA) will enter the Hex, with the top 3 going straight to Qatar (important note: 5th and 6th place are eliminated here, we'll get to 4th place later). Meanwhile, the other 29 FIFA-eligible CONCACAF nations will be split into 5 groups of 4 and 3 groups of 3 for a home and away round robin. The 8 group winners will then advance to a knockout tournament, consisting of two-legged ties, where the winner will face the 4th place team in the Hex for a spot in the inter-confederation playoffs (couldn't find the match format, I'm assuming it will be two-legged), where they will then face a randomly selected team from Oceania, Asia, or South America, again in a two-legged tie, with the winner advancing to Qatar. What this means for the US is that they will have one less round of qualifying and will advance to the Hex straightaway as a result of being the second-best team in CONCACAF. Hope I explained that well enough.

@@JdDiehl Int'l breaks for the remainder of 2019 are reserved for the new CONCACAF Nations League. Also this match was part of the now-defunct 4th round. 2018's Hex did not start until Nov. 2016, while 2022's Hex will start in Sept. 2020, 2 months earlier than 2018's Hex.

USMNT fans multiply and improves a million times each year but their players sucks. Honestly, US women national team has better soccer skill in women's world than the US Men national team has in men's soccer. USWNT are more reliable and dependable than the USMNT. The USWNT has the believe while the USMNT were hopeful which always turn to hopeless in a crucial matches. They never grew up, They have more supporters both home and abroad than any other country in the soccer world but all to avail. Thanks to US Women national team who rules the entire world in women's soccer.
