Those two theories, albeit simple was something, it was I didn't think about it, I think that the rapture being the religious end of the world makes a lot more sense, and the creatures in the ocean of blood could be demons, since they play with you before ending you right when you are about to see hope. The people that survived don't seem to see the best in anyway as well, freely torturing and imposing their ideals on others even when humanity is ending and they need each other to find a solution the most

Also taking that into account, that could mean that the void start would be the Star of Bethlehem, when Jesus was born it was there shining in the sky, so when god intervened to end humanity it would make sense to it appear again, even if somewhere were no one can see, because this time it was not a star of hope

i have a bit of a different theory about iron lungs lore my theory is that the anomaly has something to do with the quiet rapture and sm 8 tried to get it on board which inevitably ended in the ship being destroyed and the entire crew dieing which the anomaly also created the creature which is why the people who sent you onto the blood moon arnt suprised by the fact that there is life on the planet which is also why the anamoly is one of the points of interest for you to take a picture of

i have a theory that the "moon" is actually earth and the reason why i say that is cause when you see those bones in the files it says whale bones also there's building and that entity that was stalking us it was called frog in the files so that entity was a mutated frog

Right, the creator is my friend,i can give u some little information,the reason behind the rapture is the white thing on the ocean.hint:thisis an object which is completely oppossite of a very black thing from space and it emits and pushes thing.(i said it bcz i hate when people get the wrong info)
