It's sad to see people living in the past and not the present, and blaming another race for their misfortune. I'm mixed, and it's about grabbing opportunities (western world is full of them), applying yourself, working hard and not expecting a free lunch. My dad wasn't perfect, but I had a role model and he helped me financially to complete my studies. This is one of the biggest problems in our community; lack of father figures.

My full blooded native dad grew up as a foster kid after his own dad beat his mom until she eventually shot his dad. After that he was kicked out of so many foster homes that he ended up on a boys ranch, where he was eventually put in court and was about to be put in adult jail but he turned his life around.
