I recommend against using this tool. I followed the Viva Las Vegas guide precisely, and it worked for only one day before the organizer prompted an update.The update wouldn't install over the existing files, even when I manually selected the correct folder. Dragging and dropping the archive files over the old version caused further issues, blocking access to my modded New Vegas and forcing a complete restart.Vortex, on the other hand, updates without completely wrecking your game.

Vortex is just too FREAKING compicated to use. I wish who ever created that G-Dam Program would give you tips and DECENT tutorials on how to properly install mods for games and such. Are VR games supported on MO2 like Blade and Sorcery, etc? This would be nice...I HOPE we can use MO2 on Steam Deck... That would be nice. And MO2 is just too clean its scary. Literally. Nice and userfriendly UI. Which is what I love. Not this complicated stuff. lol. Sorry I'm slow. XD Do you have one for Fallout 4 as well? Would be great. ^_^

Great explanation. Seriously. My funny question is this. Plugin load order. If I don't want anything overwriting a file at all, I want it at the bottom of the plugin list in the right window correct? So, modding fallout4. Trying to install FlaconOil. You probably recognize it. It's a environment textures overhaul. Problem is it is deciding when to show the changes on its own. Maybe something is overwriting the textures? Overall question is, top, or bottom of plugin pane?

Thank you I appreciate it a lot! :-) I’m not familiar with Fallout however, if you want it to be priority you’ll need to place it as close to the bottom of the Plugins list as possible so it’s loaded last and will overwrite other mods of the same category. I’m working on a new load order explanation video that goes more into depth at the moment funnily enough!

I think it’s quite clear which was made by a company and which was made by enthusiasts. It’s getting harder and harder to try and see Vortex as even close to rivalling MO2. Can I pick where the mods are installed? Software devs seem to want to put everything in the My Documents and appdata folder. Can I change those options? M C drive fills up fast like this. Came to peep your load order lol i switched over to PC recently and was super confused on XPMSSE's load order. I know the general consensus is load low and dont let anything overwrite it but doesnt that defeat the purpose of using skeleton mods? I think most of the incompatiblities come from beauty mods which i dont use so il just stick it above my creature/npc edits idk

I’m having the issue of after the very first install, and yes I made sure to add a desktop shortcut, but I haven’t been able to run MO2 since. In desktop mode it just runs a SKSe console window for 2 mins everytime then runs. I can’t find a desktop shortcut and I can’t even open it from the install location. The game itself is fine, so I’ve just been using the mods menu in game. But I’m missjng out on SkyUi and a bunch of other cool QoL mods not in the mod menu. Can anyone help 😅

Definitely not a dumb question. I’ve seen people try to move their lists across. For the most part, it doesn’t work or isn’t done correctly. You’re better off making a list of the mods you’ve got on Vortex and starting over. It keeps all the file structures intact. It keeps the MO2 list clean and it’s all done by the book from the beginning that way :-)

It’s only to save yourself creating problems from the move that you’d then have to find and fix which might put you off completely which would be a shame. If you’ve got the downloaded mod files themselves then just drag and drop into MO2

@@ADHDecent I did start downloading the files to a file first then dragging them to vortex but I only started about half way through so maybe the next time I get the itch to build a new mod list I might start from scratch with MO2 but as of now I have been able to get all of the issues that I was experiencing fixed..or they seem to be fixed and I have been able to enjoy the game itself for a bit again lol but I have a feeling that I will be wanting to do something a little further from the vanilla that looks good type thing I have now but thanks for your help and advice on this and your videos are so helpful

This is likely because you’ll need to batch build the presets to overwrite the existing defaults. It’s a little more complex than just adding the mod into your mod manager and enabling it

Yep. You’ll need to correctly install Bodyslide through MO2 so it can access the data files needed or your Bodyslide drop down menu will be blank. Top tip: make a copy of the vanilla body preset files so you can revert them if needed as by default, it’ll overwrite them with your new ones

@@ADHDecent I learned there are folders missing lol. Not just that, folders are also scattered throughout different sections if my pc it seems. So right now i have been trying to see what the purpose of all these folders named “SKSE” and “Data” are. However, someone in the reddit forum told me that the Racemenu mod is not working right now because of the recent update.

There are issues with RaceMenu pretty much every time it’s updated. I know the GOG version has issues with it and from what I’ve read it can only currently be solved by disabling the plugin and then running. (It’s not a perfect fix but will allow certain aspects to work) I haven’t checked it myself. The SKSE folders/files and data files in random places on your PC isn’t normal though so I’m not sure what’s going on there. Maybe residual files from previous builds but that’s not a RaceMenu problem I don’t think.

Ah I’ve just checked the page and it appears the older files have been archived. I believe this is a result of the ongoing dispute with one of the authors in which they moved all their files away to their own sites. It’s an issue many modders are unhappy with. Try to search for USSEP 1.6.353 online to find the files needed.
