Goodness. I did this trek back in 1996 and got completely SHOCKED (In a good way) that most of it now is bikeable. As I switch from backpack in the old days to bicycle nowadays, this sure will get on my bucket list again. Safe travels!

I did the trek in '96 as well-left my bike with a nice kid in Pokhara for a few weeks. Absolutely unbelievable that it's possible to ride the route now. Did you see the TOILET at 10:30? Unreal!

Great video. I did this bike packing trip 5 years ago but took a different route. I went over the Tillicho Lake pass down to Johmson then back over throng La. Throng La is was better west to east, the descent down into Manang was superb.

I can honestly say thanks for bringing us into your world. The only bicycle adventrue I did was a solo ride across Canada. Nothing compares to what you just displayed and yet I did struggle in my own ways going across Canada. The amount of oxygen deprivation must have been overwhelming on that last summit. Stay safe and may the winds be mostly at your back.

Having trekked the whole circuit , plus up into the sanctuary and Annapurna base camp when it was mostly all trail before being blasted out in parts to give the area more accessibility . one wonders how one gets around the crazy new 2023 Nepalese rules re: everyone now must have a hired guide , will they have guides for adventure bikers also ?

Loved going through the film. Being a bikepacker n filmmaker myself I know how difficult it is to film as u bike, specially somewhere like the ACT! Hats off! I was supposed to do this circuit this April but the new no guide no trek policy messed my plans. But they have not implemented the law and hopefully won’t for at least a few more months or years. You don’t need the TIMS I guess. Just the conservation fees. Hence i plan to do this in October. Anti clockwise. Sorry about your broken mic. I can feel you when an important part of your gear stops working while on an important shoot and no ways to replace. But then the audio came out good, really good except at the Thorong La with the extreme wind. Your Osmo did better than my Gopro 8? I’ll take my hard tail MTB, I wonder why people take gravel with stiff fork? You don’t think it’d would have been easier on those mountain roads? Or may be you were already touring on this bike and that’s what u had I guess? 34+ years old bike, wow man! Awesome! And why did you put load only one side, wasn’t it uncomfortably to balance on those roads; or don’t you think it’d have been more comfortable with two panniers with the load being shared and balanced? How freezing cold was it to ride, specially in the morning and at the pass? I think I’m too excited watching your film, putting so many questions lol. Lovely presentation and yes, awesome music. I am still looking for a way to use my insta360 one R like you did on the handlebar initially. Which mount are you using? My mount makes the cam swing so much when extended and on bumpy roads! Mind sharing a video on your filming setup? I have a Sony A7C and a 28-75 2.8 as my main cam. A new subscriber here, will find and follow you in Instagram too! :) Wishing you more and more tail winds, man! Keep pedaling. Let me know if you plan to be in Northeast of India, I’m from Guwahati, Assam. Regards, @TravelAndFilming. ❤
@MONKEYON2WHEELS
@MONKEYON2WHEELS Жыл бұрын
Thanks man :) not sure how and when exactly the new law will be placed but I hope there is an exception for cycling. Anyways yeah I think Osmo is more reliable than the Gopro 8 and soundwise I believe too. The Insta 360 I just hold in my hand while riding by this you can balance out the swing quite well. Good luck mate :)

I first did this trek in 1991 out of season in February with over a metre of snow all the way from Thorung Phedi - a real killer - the hardest thing I’ve ever done - falling repeatedly waist deep into the snow. I did it again in 2010 in season, with less snow, and it was comfortable. But that was without a bike! All credit to you, especially for your light-hearted manner and attitude. What happened to your nice titanium bike? Wouldn’t that have been lighter?
