Hey, Chris. Like others have commented, thanks man! I believe this info can also be applied to the Motif ES. Cheers!

@thelearningcenter no problem. i am always happy to help. it could be that you have the arp button still on or its that you need to be on an empty pattern.

Regarding Polyphony... While it doesn't state it in the manual, I believe the lower numbered tracks have precedence over the higher number. Meaning sounds in the lowered numbered tracks will "win" vs the higher number if you hit the 64 note limit. So while it might SOUND like there's not a polyphony issue when putting the drums in the higher track numbers, I believe it's just because you don't notice it as much if the sustain of a drum beat gets cut off as compared to the sustain of a piano note.

Hello I know you may have answered this but I can't seem to figure out how to save patterns on the Motif itself, can I save to the motif without a smart media card? simple pattern and sequencer data? the Manual says there are user spaces for saving them but I cant figure it out.

@chrisc74 I am just stunned at how bad the manual is. You must have logged hundreds of hours figuring this stuff out! What about saving the sequences? (or patterns) is it hard to save an 8 bar pattern and pull it back up?

What is polyphony?

I am the guy who requested this. This is so kind of you to take the time to do this. What's weird is that when I followed your directions I recorded my first track of drums and there was stuff already recorded going on when I played it back! (Not anything I recorded either) Does that mean I was not in the right spot to start recording? Do you have to somehow select an empty pattern first? Thank you again for taking the time as the manual is horrible!

Do you have online classes/workshops for learning the MO6?
@chrisc742 жыл бұрын
All I have is what's on my channel. I don't use the mo6 anymore.
@julia-12292 жыл бұрын
@@chrisc74 ok thanks for responding. What do you use now? I love my MO6 but it's maddening trying to learn it all with the manual.
@chrisc742 жыл бұрын
You're welcome. Not using anything at the moment. I do still have the mo6 but it's in storage. Not doing music at the moment. I hope it goes well with your mo6. I found the Yamaha forums the best for information.

A nice concise tutorial, but I don't understand how a musician can have such bad timing!
@chrisc748 жыл бұрын
i did say my timing on here wasnt great hence the reason for using the presets.
