Seriously, I'm here because I found an ES88 at a pretty good price, but I don't just want to buy one because it's 1/3 of the price of a brand new XF, so I'm doing some research. you can plug in a usb flash/thumb drive on the usb port in the back of the keyboard and click the file button and hit f3 to store and scroll to all patterns and hit enter and confirm that you wanna save the patters

Resampling is when you set up a workstation to sample itself. It is useful for saving polyphony or exporting songs as WAV files.

@razzled12 Use the sliders for each different track. If u go to track 5 then the first slider will control that slide.

Set the quanitizer to 16th notes for drums higher makes the timing looser for that drum loop you made you could probably even set it to 8th notes. But if you are doing jungle or dubstep you will most likely need 16th note triplets or 32nd notes

For anyone wondering how to export songs as a WAV file you need to resample the song. Go to integrated sampling and select sample then resample. After recording is complete save your recording as a WAV file.

Yes I have... You will probably have to re-record the drum track. I'm not sure how to fix the problem. It has happened to me. I really don't use the motif anymore for recording because of small issues like this.

Hi, if I load a VOICE with sampled components, such as Organ Session, when I turn off the keyboard I cancel the samples causing the VOICE not to work? If I put this VOICE in a PERFORMANCE, do I only lose in real time volume controls (drowbars effect) or also the samples? So the solution is to put the usb stick in AUTOLOAD and always load the samples every time the keyboard is turned on? Thank you

Insert a USB stick. Also you have to install memory on the keyboard. Go to edit and save

When I go to pattern, then record, and try to record drums, it already has some sort of preset loop in there (set to New R&B). What can I do to remove that and just play what I'm playing live?

Hey guys ... I have also a motif, the es 8. The problem is this: if you once select a voice, and want to change the sound later, as soon as you hit the locate left button, the new sound will be replaced with the first one, which is really annoying. Can you confirm that?

YUPPERZ!!! U can create several patternz. Letz say u create Pattern A, B, C, & D. Now u can CHAIN them 2gether, 2 make a song/medley/etc. Letz say, 4 our purposez, Pattern A = CAN'T TOUCH DIS. B = FUCK FACEZ. C = DA FREAKZ CUM OUT AT NITE. & D = DA KING OF ROCK & u wanta create a lil medley of these old skool jamz. So u can nter them n manually, or u can record da different patternz n, azz u prefer. U may start out recording da PATTERNZ. Then if need b, u would OVERDUB da SCENEZ within each pattern. ( Sumtimez u want da guutarcf#, Finally, if ur patternz require tempo changez, u can record them under OVERDUB, azz well! I hope I helped out a lil. Remember - Patternz A, B, C, & D, don't haveta b different songz 4 use n a Medley. Pattern A, could b ur verse. Pattern B, could b da chorus. C, da bridge. Finally D, could b ur outro. OUTZZZzzzzz

press the utility button, then the f3 button, and the sf1 button. that should take you to the metronome settings. yep!

Vincent, sometimes this happens: I place drums on track 1 & 2 Bass on track 3 Piano on track 4. Now all of sudden (sometimes) track 2 (on which I had placed drums) , has the piano souns (which i've placed on track 4). Track 4 still has pianos but track 2 too. Now when I change track 2 to drums (again), it has drums, but when I press record, it goes back to piano! Have you ever seen this? It keeps doin that a lot of times!

When dat happenz, hit RECORD. Now u will b set 2 record, BUTT make sure u switch from REPLACE 2 OVERDUB. REPLACE, meanz u will lose ur per4mance, when u do azz I am nstructing u. OVERDUB, allowz u 2 add, 2 ur xisting per4mance. Ok. U have hit RECORD & made sure ur n OVERDUB mode. Now look 4 da VOICE within dat same window. I am not great @ navigating da voicez, from dis page, so I either consult my manual, 2 find da rite voice, or go back 2 da MIX button & go up under VOICE there ( like homey showed, n dis video ) & make note of da BANK & PATCH numberz. Then U MUST return 2 da RECORD mode, go 2 ur VOICE function THERE, & then select ur correct drum patch. Now, hit play & let da Motif take note of da correct patch. When u r done recording, ur drum patch should b there, nstead of dat dayummed piano. Now I just told u all of dis, from memory. I am not n front of my keyboard. Hopefully, I am not misguiding u. I don't think so. I 2, am having a bit of a difficult time, using da onboard Motif sequencer. I LOVE da Motifz soundz - da realism, versatility allowed within compositional jobz, & da sheer power of da output, BUTT I am cumming from da EPS-16+. An oldie ( early 1990z ) BUTT goodie, where their sequencing arrangement, wuz way mo ntuitive & easy 2 manuever around. Only problemz wit da EPS, iz it bein an American manufactured keyboard, da company went under & there4, there r only a couple of 3rd party dveloperz, dat can xpand da keyboard byond itz 1990z, limitationz. Top it off, I spoke wit 1 third party dveloper, who said Ensoniq, would not release schematicz 4 da EPS-16+, so dat makez it dayum near mpossible 2 tweak da hardware, byond itz current limitationz. ( barring reverse ngineering. ) I still hold out hopez of retro-fitting sum sort of USB dvice, n2 my EPS-16+, azz da floppy disk loading, iz 2 slow & cumbersome. ( Itz much better, carrying a flashdrive 2 a gig, than a tub of floppy disk. USB, will load soundz n a bank, n 2 secondz, where each sound takez about 2 minutez, off if a floppy disk! SMH Datz y I have tasked myself, wit learning dis Yamaha Motif. I have created sum bomb-azz jamz. I got da xpansion board, so I can sample, like I often did on da EPS-16+. Now - I have gotten n2 taking da Motif out & per4ming live. Dat lil xtra stress, teachez u! GOOD LUCK - on gittin dat sound u really want, 2 stay n ur track. If u followed my nstruction, u shoulda been successful - NO LUCK NEEDED. ( LOL!!! ) OUTZZZzzzzzz

And second: if you wanne make a bridge in the middle of the song, with different chord then the chords used throughout the song, how do you put it there? You use 3 chords in this video, lets say after 8 meassures you want these chords change (there comes the bridge), you know what I try to say? How do you do that
