It was a pretty huge surprise for me to learn that Dwayne Johnson could sing. I've never heard him sing before. So that was pretty cool to listen to him sing. Auli'i Cravalho was absolutely AMAZING! I was very impressed with her performance in this film. She just did a wonderful job she stole the movie for me. Although I liked Pua and Hei Hei. They were awesome. The only thing that I had a problem with though was the song Shiney. I'm sorry but that song threw me off while I was watching it. I just didn't think that it matched the tone of the movie. You've got all your songs in a Hawaiian tone like Where You Are, We Know The Way, How Far I'll Go and You're Welcome. But then they throw in this semi pop song it just ruins the middle of the movie for the next 3-4 minutes. And I'm sorry but that song should've been cut from the film. But other than that I absolutely loved loved loved loved the film. Again I'll watch it over and over and over agian for many years to come along with my other favorite Disney animated films. Such as The Little Mermaid, Tangled, and Frozen.

Lin wrote the English lyrics for the songs, Opetaia the various Polynesian parts and Mark the score which includes vocals from a Fijian choir ...they all collaborated beautifully TOGETHER 😄 ...besides without Lin and his lyrics it wouldn't appeal as much to those who aren't of Polynesian descent and it just wouldn't be the movie we all know and love it to be ...so LMM did us a great service, thank you sir 😉
