What a waste, lmao. Shimazaki was easily one of the most powerful Esper humans to have fought the Main Cast and all it took was Reigen's "Seld-Defense Rush" and Mob's intimidation to scare him right out of the storyline. He would've lost to Mob, sure, but he at least could've taken out everyone and protected Claw's goodname. I hope his character returns one days as a 10-year anniversary anime OVA antagonist, becuase his character arc shouldn't end with him running away like a little bitch. I call REMATCH!

That's his point. He only focused on psychic powers as a way to rate people's worth. He saw himself as second best in the world, but Reigen beating his ass proved Teruki's statement that he's "just as ordinary as everyone else".

His personality was lazy bitchass from the very beginning. He had no real convictions, he just enjoyed being able to bully people without repercussions. So of course he ran away like a coward the second he thought he was outmatched. It's what people like him are like in real life too
