Good oil, but overpriced for what it is. Tends to be more expensive than something like Penzoil Ultra Platinum or Valvoline Advanced - both of which show a much better add pack and higher TBN after 3000-5000 miles. It’s good oil, but from an economic standpoint there are better choices for your average consumer shopping at Walmart.

Pennz Ultra Plat has been shown to be superior in actual testing to almost every oil except Amsoil Signature. People saying this or that is the best oil without analysis to back it up are just expressing opinions. Improved mileage is at least an objective measure, so I’m glad OP got that benefit. Also, different oils may be better oils for different engines.

If you have a toyota with vvt or vvti you should run toyotas oil. It has more molyb. You will notice the difference right away.

Mobil 1 has shown to be inferior to other brands based on lab analysis. Ultra Platinum Penzoil came second to Amsoil, which is the best and expensive oil.

Mobil 1 is a great oil. As is Penzoil and yes, I use amsoil exclusively in the Jeep. Project Farm has a bunch of demos with all these oils and they all do very well against one another. Thanks for the comment, have a great day!

Why doesn't Mobil 1 meet or exceed the Chrysler MS6395 specifications? Mobil 1 doesnt recommend there oil for Dodge Chrysler cars..at least my Dodge Nitro doesn't meet the spec..strange..

My uncles warranty on his SRT was voided bc he used Mobil 1. I used it once in my truck & it turned black after only 3k vs Castrol & Valvoline which took twice that to get dark…..not black tho.

@@TPk5k the other brands get dirty too just take longer. My engine is really clean for its age & Mobil 1 not only looked dark early it also smelled burnt by 3k.

@@dontderockmerizz3211Your uncle's warranty was probably voided because he didn't use the dealership's proprietary oil and filter service, not because of Mobil One. As to your experience, the Mobil One turned black because the detergents and dispersants in the oil cleaned carbon and sludge from the engine and suspended it in the oil, not because the Mobil One "burned" or somehow degraded. If you'd used it a second or third time, it would probably have come out cleaner.

Out of curiosity, GM has been using Mobile 1 in Corvettes since 2011 or earlier. Wonder if GM had stock in Exon Mobile and maybe got a special or better deal for using it from the line?

Years of use in many vehicles. Our primary oils are Mobil One and Amsoil. Neither have ever failed us. Thanks for the comment, lots of great oils out there, this is just our opinion on what we use. It is what it is, we didn't bash any other brand. Have a great day!

Yes, project farm did test it against rp and amsoil (I use amsoil in my jeep)l and was a dealer for amsoil years back). Amsoil is too expensive now, and I'd never start another engine on amsoil as you're not to switch back after using that oil. I'll never put amsoil in another engine due to cost and all 3 engines I made exclusive to amsoil started gasket leaks around 80k miles. Honda passport, dodge stratus, and jeep wrangler JL all started leaking at the head gaskets at around 80k miles on amsoil. I never had that issue with Mobil one.
