Thanks for the review. I’m thinking about buying the Hooke for my 4K walk video recordings through cities and countrysides. I’m looking for a microphone that gives a good ambience. I’ve noticed that in some of the sample audio reviews here on KZbin that there’s some obvious wind noise. What has been your experience with wind noise? Then, how’s the quality of the hardware itself?

Hey, I happen to have the 3db, but it's quite surprising that it performs like telephone quality or radio quality here. My recording is actually quite satisfying when I use its app together to record, maybe you need to check with the shop to change another one?

I own a Scenes Sound microphone and the 3dB. The scenes sound is definitely cheaply made (get what you pay for with the cheap MSRP. The sound quality is atrocious, with very ill fitting silicone ear tips. The carrying case is just a bag (not protective at all) and it doesn't come with windscreens. Also, it makes no sense to have a wired iOS only option. I want to record binaural 3D Audio to everything, not just an iPhone. Plus, I don't support any company who makes false claims to media trying to act like they were first to market (see here: hookeaudio.com/blog/2017/10/24/hooke-verse-worlds-first-3d-audio-capturing-headphones/). The 3dB's recording quality is atrocious but the playback is alright. The app is way too cumbersome though and very hard to operate. For the versatility, portability and quality, Hooke Audio is definitely the way to go.

Hooke verse two thumbs down. Bought it. Didn't meet my lowest expectations. How can it be binaural bluetooth when it's 16000hz tape quality mono ??? Sad and mad !!! Nice if the app worked with android tablet as expected too. Bluetooth connections dropped and cut off more than it was on. Competitors were half the price and didn't have the 50hz hum.
