High profit, low overhead! True words. Booked my 80th wedding for 2022, things are crazy this year! That's after raising rates twice and adding services. Pre Covid I was averaging 40. Considering becoming a multi-op, but the quality control kinda scares me. Also that would increase overhead. Currently I swap gigs with a few other single-op guys on Oahu if we're double booked or want to go on vacation.

Solid, solid tips from a master! My #1 tip to add...educate yourself and implement what you learned. Perfect notes are great but you'll learn even more and see the results from imperfect ACTION.

I come from the Los Angeles house, Musick seen, and I’ve been DJing for about 27 years. Just getting into the mobile thing. It’s definitely different getting familiar with music that I’m absolutely not familiar with I have all the lighting and gear that you would need to start out actually a lot more than you, but I can probably do anywhere from 100 people to easily 1000. So now it’s just time to put in the work. I will continue to watch your videos. Lotta info appreciate it.

HeyJoe how do you keep the dj's working for you from trying to pass out their cards and take future business from you? And how do keep the dj's playing like you would if you were doing the gig? Are you providing your dj's with the music and equipment as well?
@DJJoeBunn3 жыл бұрын
I tell them up front that they are working for me exclusively (other than club stuff). You can also get them to sign a non-compete. Cloning yourself is hard, but training your DJs and letting them shadow you can make them "almost" as good as you! I don't provide gear or music.

Hey Joe, if we are just starting our mobile dj business, is it important to make sure we have an LLC attached to it before doing any events in case of any issues?
@DJJoeBunn2 жыл бұрын
I would def. talk to a business lawyer in your area, and get that set up. Maybe an accountant as well. And you def. need insurance too!

Does Joe Bunn DJ Company have a sales team? You could standardize packages, do sales in the areas that you have DJs (so DJs don't have to, and because a sales professional will excel at sales consultations, and will close more sales), and expand your DJ business!

Also, it would be a great way to mentor new DJs, and give us new DJs some entry level shadowing opportunities...
