Another DJ and I approached a bar owner offering to put on a weekly Wednesday night. We kept the door takings and he was more than pleased with his hugely increased mid-week drinks revenue. That night ran for 5 years and led to many other engagements. It’s always worth putting ideas forward.

I do events in limerick Ireland it’s really fun but sometimes stressful. Apart from the stress if you give yourself a slot to dj it makes everything worth it. Selling out an 1800 person show like we did 6 months ago feels just as good as selling out a 300 person show if you organise it yourself. I love doing what I do just it’s a lot of work

Hey would love to see a vid about orgainising events how to convince pubs and other locations to accept my events? Are percentage of sales deals on the table for these kind of things to the place doesnt see a huge risk if it fails wouldnt want to seem like an ameteur trying to plan an event.
@Premiumalltheway3 жыл бұрын
I agree would love to see some steps on potentially exploring the event scene. Not much detail is given and would not want to be owing a heap of money to a venue if the event doesn't work out which is what I think many people's concern would be. Would be a great video.

THIS!!!! I had a big party where we brought Waka Flocka back in college for my clothing company lol that's kind of how we really launched that company. I like this idea. I live in Denver, CO now and hardly know anybody, but this sounds like a soild start!! I want this video of exactly how you'd do it too!

This is just the kick in the ass i needed to start looking for ways to organize events. It just makes sense, and most in line with how i studied marketing, and how it should be applied to DJing. Marketing by definition starts with the process of creating value for your stakeholders (people and clubs, promoters, venue owners), and the most naturat way to do that in this business is by organizing events. This is sober and the truth that most DJs wont tell you! Thanks for the insight always appreciated your videos. I wish you all the success!

Me and couple of my friends are in the same college and me as a dj wanted to do something for Halloween. 2 other of friends of mine decided to launch a platform that will allow upcoming dj’s to find gig’s through. Our first event is in Halloween and we have 4 dj’s lined up -including me-. We talked with my friends father to use his bar. Anyways, this video motivated me even more and thanks to you it will be my first official event that I will be doing!

Thank you so much for your positive energy and your honesty about the approach, creativity, and a sense of service that comes along with being a DJ, Im a new DJ trying to figure out, like how you just said, "How Do I get my name out there?". I think you've just shown me its about getting out their and not about getting your name out there. Thanks again ! I HOPE TO COME ACROSS MORE OF YOUR CONTENT ALONG MY JOURNEY! I also really appreciated how you summed up DJing to be a way for you to play music FOR people and to share YOUR PARTICULAR sound! Great analysis.

So I've been djing since 2008, but about a month ago, I decided to step back from DJing social events because I wanted to practice and perfect my style. I've been on the fence about taking your course, but I've finally decided that it's probably the best next step for me before I return to the scene as a dj. Thanks for your videos man, they've definitely helped me prepare for some of my most important bookings in my career. See you in class soon ✌❤

Great video, me and a mate actually ran our first event a month ago in London and it was a really valuable learning experience. We also have a monthly radio show where we invite other DJ’s for interview and let them showcase their own style, we found it’s a rly good way of making connections with local artists at a similar or higher level. Would rly appreciate another video on how to build a following for a night/club event and any lessons you’ve learnt from your years of experience in running events

My fist underground experience was in a warehouse with three sections and 6 djs, I gave one a ride home and he had people waiting at his house he invited for a private afterparty that he spun till daylight, while collecting people from the big party. My area is a hard rock scene with heavy metal underground house clubs scattered around neighborhoods.

Only criticism is that living in the middle of a 1st world metropolitan city (London) , it’s not economically or practically feasible to just ‘put on an event’ unless you already have a large network of friends or you can afford to pay upfront and bio another act with pull.

Andrew, how did you do it on your first events, were you headlining yourself? How would you go about setting up a DJ line up if you're yourself doing an event or party? Thanks man I'm a student of the course and always following the vids 🤘🏼
@ClubReadyDJSchool11 ай бұрын
Yeah I used to always headline and could easily play a few sets a night and put other DJs / my friends mainly in bteween my sets to give me a break - I was probably a control freak, but through DJing myself I could make certain the event lived up to its potential and also I love DJing and sometimes if I wasn't playing I'd get board. DJing is a source, if it's your party do what you want. I gave up compromising to fit in long ago - figure out what you want and take it, but be kind and bring optimism to everything :) You've got this!
