CORRECTION: I accidentally added the salary twice. I put it in the business expenses and added it on at the end again. Please list your business expenses with the salary added in and then do the formula.
THIS WOULD BE THE CORRECTED FORMULA:
$5,265/22 DAYS A MONTH= $239.31/4 PETS A DAY= 59.82
ROUNDS UP TO $60 a pet.
This budget was made with hypothetical numbers to create a real life scenario. Please make a list of your expenses/estimated expenses and plug your numbers in.
This formula will help you understand how to price your clients BASED on expenses, days you want to work, and how many pets you want to groom a day.

The Salary figure covers all the personal expenses... so, the $2490.00 would not be additional, bringing the real monthly expenses to $5265. This would bring the price per dog down to more like $60.

I don't know if Im being clear but, for example, you have one booking for 10am and another one to 1h later but, just the distance between the customers is around 20/30min... It can mess the schedule a lot, right? Thanks again, Eduardo

U could save 250 car + 100 gas by owning only the business car and driving this. Also have the cellphone as a business phone cause this is missing on the left side of the calculations, its tax deductable. Also, why need a garage safes u another 1000 Dollar per year, instead get a insurance for a possible break in. I dont know your booking app but 90 Dollar is another 1000 Dollar per year, is it worth it? Basically, u have potential to bring your costs down immensly and enjoy more profit for a cruise, why work for others, do it for yourself.

I live in Miami and I have checked prices in Orlando and other cities in Florida and the prices are usually very similar. I’d like to get into the mobile grooming business, I have some grooming experience, after working in a salon for 4 years. I wonder if adding a partner to this business would be profitable? I mean, charging at least $100 for a small dog so we both can make a buck, isn’t that a little too much? Any advise?
@PawzAll
@PawzAll 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, it all depends on what your overhead costs, expenses, and salary are. $100 for a small dog is not too much if the service you are providing matches the price. I wouldn’t worry about what other people in your area are charging. Do the formula with one other person involved (you would need to add another salary to your expenses). If I were wanting to start a business with a partner I would make sure my business expenses such as the van payment is significantly low or paid off completely. Also, be very clear what your business partner’s duties are going to be. Will they be grooming too or just an assistant? How much will they be investing? Those factors will effect their salary and your overhead expenses.

So you have 570 in money not allocated to bills at the end of the month? Is this worth all the work you put in ?
@PawzAll
@PawzAll 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jaime, not sure how you came up with $570 but in this scenario I simply found the lowest amount one can charge for a small breed dog with the expenses above. If you are upgrading grooming packages, doing medium and large breed dogs, and even grooming cats your profit vs expenses is well worth the work you put in. Smart groomers do not charge for their time- they charge for their value making their profit margin well worth it.

Aren't you paying yourself twice? 3000 in one column, 2480 in the other, adding them all up to get the 7695. So, doing just 4 dogs a day, you're paying yourself 5480 a month. Which is nice, don't get me wrong! I'm just saying, you're paying yourself twice in this model, which is where you're coming up with 88 dollars a dog. On that note, why only 4 dogs a day? It seems low. I know driving around affects your time.

Mobile should be about quality not so much quantity. If you are starting out 4 grooms a day is a comfortable number especially if you are taking big dogs as well. Burn out in the grooming community is real and was something I went through the first year of my business. Mobile is all about grooming less dogs a day while charging more because of convenience, expertise, and undivided/personalized attention.

I think you offered a boss program, I’d really like to check it out, I am more than ready financially to start this endeavor. Like buy the van out right ready. Also had some questions like do I register my llc then order the van I have mental list of all these things I need to do but don’t know where to start 1st!! , I’ve done some research with Hanvey and WAggin Tails. I worked in a Hanvey and liked it because it seemed simple but I don’t think they can power those k9 dryers. Also any referrals for using someone to build my website, cards, building my brand etc. I saw waggin tails offers some help but didn’t know if I could save money else where. I highly value your input u seem very on top of it and business savvy. My New Years wish for 2023 was to start this mobile journey, I’ve still got some time so I need to bust some A$$.
