The most exciting thing about Apichatpong is that, unlike other film makers, he wants us to be conscious of the fact that we are watching a film and that he has a story he wants to present to us. I love love LOVE the changing of the lens while he's filming. It breaks down the process, it pushes away the falseness of film by presenting us with it fully. In a way, it makes us more aware and appreciative.

Hmmm... very clever. And even somewhat plausible. I like Apichatpong's films best when I don't think about what they mean and just soak in the images and atmosphere. The image and sound of the young man hollering proudly and joyously with the landscape rushing past behind him and the setting sun shining over his head was beautiful.

Yeah, his films are more of a meditative experience for me. I felt really relaxed after watching Boonmei.

I'd love to know how he works with the actors, how much direction , how much improv

would the mini mic capture, or record the memories and the pain from the tatoo? why the misplacement of the equipment.? movies can only simulate, lack of accuracy. great short.

Try to forget any narration or conflicts and you should understand a bit more. If there's a rule saying a conflict is required in a movie, we must admit that Peace never exists in film.
