+lowerlowerhk IMO that's a combination of the fact that the Sinanju popping up close was telegraphed by a noise and Banagher's reaction, and the fact that its eye didn't glow extra bright as it was doing it, and it didn't change the head angle to look more murderous. Also, the pop-up happened noticeably slower. It's all about the little things.

I assume you're talking about "Awakening, Escalation, Confrontation" which Origins was only loosely based off of. The silly plotline including a a lookalike was an Origins exclusive. The general backstory of certain elements were similar (The general flow of events that led up to the OYW and certain key events of Casval's life) but there were plenty of alterations made as well.

Front full is actually a 'clone' of char during the counter char attack (film) he had hair samples, skin and blood for research related to psicoframe at the time, but after he lost the battle research took a different turn, and instead make one Mobile suit better and more adapted to Newtypes, they cloned the char, and full frontal truth and a cyber-Newtype it believes to be char, and has included his personality.

There's some pretty impressive choreography in the second one, but it's a bit like the fights in the Star Wars prequels, in that all the movement and the designs are very impressive and pretty, but... but... Something's important is still missing that the original had in spades despite its rough edges. And I don't think that's just a nostalgia factor, either.

Just like the fight scenes in the SW prequels, instead of making the story the center piece, the production team became more interested in showing off what they can do with the latest technology and how to make the fights more "awesome." So you end up with over-the-top fight scenes that have exaggerated techniques, dramatic poses, and showoff-ish close-ups. At first glance, it all looks very impressive, but feels contrived very quickly. It doesn't have the visceral vide the originals have.

The real Char Aznable is once named Casval Rem Deikun, elder brother of Sayla Mass and the son of Zeon Zum Deikun. He is a Newtype and rivaled with Amuro Ray. The other is Full Frontal, a clone of Char which is why they called him with the Second Coming of Char. He is a Cyber-Newtype and rivaled with Banagher Links.

He actually isn't a clone of Char, but a Cyber Newtype that had his own mind overridden with Char's psychoframe signature. Char's actual Newtype spirit was embedded within Full Frontal, albeit not a complete form. As such, he held only the negative feelings of Char, but not his hope for humanity. When he went to the end of time at the end of the series, he was reunited with the rest of his spirit, and Char was finally able to rest, having decided to leave his hopes for humanity with Banagher.

+SeriouS Greg I enjoyed the throwback to 0079 with him kicking the Unicorn, and then showing Banagher bouncing back in forth just like Amuro. I'd say, his 0079 moves were more brash and taunting, he was trying to feel out the Federation's new MS. Unicorn, while technically a different person, you see more focus to him. He completely ignores the other MSs and draws out the Unicorn. He could have destroyed the ship if he wanted, he's done so countless times before, but he wanted a challenge.

in neither the manga nor the anime did full frontal have char's genes. Full frontal received cyber newtype conditioning and brainwashing from data stored on the sazabi's pyschu-comm while also have extreme facial and throat reconstructive surgery, and in the end the ghost of char spoke out against full frontal explaining even he wouldn't go that far and that full frontal does not understand what char was fighting for and is nothing more then a puppet.

This is made clear when he is confronted by Manevia about the "real" char's ideals and at the very end of Unicorn when he admits to having someones thoughts in his head but he isn't sure who. And then at the very end when his consiousness as Char, Amuro and Lalah all leave the destiny of the universe "up to them" was pretty significant too :)

+Giggity1080 from what I get of it, the two machines created a powerful psycho field that bent space and time around them aging both machines rapidly. The main difference is that (this is more of a guess) Unicorn has a complete psycho frame where as the Neo Zeong did not. Which is why it rusted and the Unicorn was engulfed in psycho frame "crystals." The reason for Full Frontal dieing was most likely due to stress from such a powerful field.

In my opinion, Full Frontial is a shell of the small fragment of Char's consciousness and his ideals while full Frontial still has his own mind and body. In short, he is a vessel that houses the spirit of the real Char, and can be thought of a clone that was created for this reason. More discussions would be nice!

The nods to the original in unicorn are something else, even the unicorn gundam it's self is a nod to the original before the anime where the gundam was just white. That's why in the anime and games that take dialog from the manga refer to the gundam as "the white one" which makes more sense rather than how it looked in the anime. :P

Yes, I agree with you. Moreover, the simple design of the Unicorn Gundam should also based on the first Gundam RX782. Unicorn is being designed very simple without any wings or backpack. The basic weapons it hold is the beam saber and the beam rifle.

Okay, I'm noticing a lot of people saying stuff like "FULL FRONTAL AND CHAR ARE DIFFERENT PEOPLE"...I don't know if this because they've only seen the English dub where Full Frontal has a different voice actor and Char has a bunch of different voice actors or what but...no, Full Frontal really isn't a different person. They do an awful job explaining it in the series though so it kinda makes sense some would be confused. Besides the stupid hair, Full Frontal is a literal clone of Char created around the time of ZZ similar to Marida Cruz. In the Japanese version, Char and Full Frontal have the same voice, Ikeda, and Char doesn't change voices because...Ikeda is Char's original and most iconic voice. In addition to being a literal clone of Char, this is kinda weird, Full Frontal has part of Char's consiousness and memories as a part of him which were somehow preserved after Axis event in the Psychoframe. For intents and purposes in Unicorn , Full Frontal is Char. Some people think he's like a Kylo Ren style Char fanboy but he's not, he's reincarnated Char. He has the same skills as Char, the same mannerisms as Char, has many of the same famous Char quotes and knows things and says things only Char would especially in the way he speaks about the Gundam and calling the ship in Unicorn a "White Base lookalike". As Kai would say, Full Frontal is a CHAR!

Redman A actually Full frontal is a different person I watched the original dub and he said he went through emptying himself to be a vessel for the memories of Char. So not really a true clone. Char Afranche from Gaia Gear is a true clone of Char both genetically and memory wise.

+binh nguyen pham nguyen You're not wrong. The Zaku types were the first real combat-worthy Mobile Suits, and the main reason why the Federation went through hell until they developed the RX-78-2. The Gundam itself, in the original TV version, consisted of a Core Fighter block that combined with various other body parts and weapons, making the Gundam an entire weapon system of its own, to varying effect :D They needed big cockpits since most of the early Mobile Suit's defenses were in the armor thickness (for the Zaku) and keeping all systems pilot-accessible for a transforming core block (in the Gundam's case).

I hate how gundams and feddie mobile suits have the unfair advantages of hiding behind shields and one shot laser weapons. Like if the zakus had them, the war would have been so much longer and harder.

Just to be clear, Full Frontal was a genetically cobbled together clone of Char with what the geneticists thought were the best genes to put in Char, and afterwards they added the artificial new-type trait in him (because even a clone of Char wouldn’t have the experience of the real one, and the geneticists didn’t really know if Char was a new-type or not) So the Char clone like all other artificial new-types died somehow when their wishes were fulfilled (when the ghosts of Char and Lala appeared they made him realize his wish to spread Char’s message and beliefs were accomplished) Now because artificial new-types are unstable, after receiving too much stress Full Frontal died from his excursion to “The Beyond” (Get it? As in the song? 40th Gundam Anniversary?) Really sad... really...😭😭😭 - also don’t know why his suit started vaporizing though...

Full Frontal is literally a clone of the original Char, with parts of his conciousness and memories and VOICE. Kylo Ren is a relative trying to look his grandfather. When I watched Unicorn, I wasn't thinking "Wow, this Full Frontal guy is impersonating Char", I was thinking "Besides the bad hair cut, Shuichi Ikeda is killing it as Char again". I see Full Frontal as Char, same look basically, same voice, very similar looking Red Mobile Suit...HE IS A CHAR

Char didn't/couldn't fuck up the RX-78-2 because he was trying to either capture or gauge it's abilities where as full frontal just wanted to fuck up the gundam because he assumed he wouldn't get his shit rocked by two angsty teens in a G-Line/Side Story kit bash, and Low Budget Zeta Gundam named after a mythical horse and equipped with a high power YEET cannon. He also just went for the kill instead of learning about what his enemy could do or what he could do against his enemy. He knows nothing about Banagher, nor does he know the true extent of the power of the Unicorn Gundam.

Comparing animation from a low-budget '79 series with a high-end one from a contemporary OVA is a bit cruel. Nevertheless, while the scene from Unicorn is a clear nod to MSG, I vote for Unicorn, even though Frontal isn't really Char. If you want to compare Chars, what about MSG vs. CCA? ;)

Firstly, Full Frontal looks like Char, says the same lines as Char, has parts of his memories and conciseness, and is voiced by Shuichi Ikeda...Full Frontal is basically a ressurected Char and he acts like Char. Secondly people harp on 0079 for animation but it's one of the most iconic anime of all time, it doesn't need a remake. Not being able to enjoy something purely because it's old is silly

Its because the Sazabi was not complete. It was out of tune snd needed preparation for Sortie unlike the Nu Gundam which like the Zeong in 0079 was 80% complete and 100% operational.
