Nice, I did the same with pfSense and with an APU-Board (where I included a LTE-Modem and a Wifi-Card).

I also like pfSense or OPNsense very much. Here I think OpenWrt is actually the better option as wifi driver support is better and there are much more devices available which are also more affordable. I actually ordered a GL.iNet GL-MT1300 today. It is of course not as powerful as the APU but I think it's a really good fit.

Jesus, you scare me. I stopped at 4.21, because you just described my setup at 100%. I bought that nanopi and installed openwrt on it do exactly the setup you describe. Currently I am missing a USB adapter for client and AP function but this due lag of appropriate USB wifi adapter. Can you point one out? Ok, I will finish the video ....
