37:27 "You can't get a higher capacitance than 47 uF in 0805" They actually make 100 uF in 0805, but they're ungodly expensive (4 times the price). the 47's are 8 cents in qty and the 100's are 32 cents. Wonder if the TH memory slots limits OC vs the SMD ones you get in other high end boards.

if you have "doublers" you MAY have worse transient response on the shifted phase due to the propagation delay as mentioned, however on the non-shifted phase you will likely have better transient performance because you can have reduced inductance. 2x the phases, for same inductance results in (up to) 50% less ripple 2x the phases, 0.707x inductance results in(up to) 33% less ripple and 50% better transient response 2x the phases, 0.5x inductance results in similar ripple and (up to) twice a good transient response imho, the cost of the "doublers" and the assembly time/board space/routing difficulties is pretty insignificant if you're already putting down power stages, inductors, caps and other associated passives, just use the bloody things.

Sure this board does NOT support PCIe 4.0 as it is intel. Intel does not support PCIe 4.0 so for the nice and new nvidia RTX3090 you will need an AMD chipset.
@johnnyelfilo
@johnnyelfilo 4 жыл бұрын
That's not how it works. Most Z490 boards are PCI-E 4.0 compatible. The only reason they can't run at 4.0 its because the 10th gen Intel CPUs don't support it. Intel supposedly is gonna make 11th gen CPU's with PCI-E 4.0 support but only time will tell. You can still run the upcoming RTX 3090 with PCI-E 3.0, will it affect performance? We'll have to wait for benchmarks. You can run the 2080ti with PCI-E 2.0 with little to no performance loss.
@andikamirza7141
@andikamirza7141 4 жыл бұрын
Speechless seeing how dumb this comment... Yes, that 3090 is using pcie 4.0 support, but that doesn't mean gen 10th or older intel chip can't used that 3090 since pcie 4.0 are FORWARD AND BACKWARD COMPATIBLE, meaning that 3090 STILL CAN BE USED AT PCIE 3.0 LANE WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM JUST LIKE 5700 XT, the only difference is since intel gen 10th are still using pcie 3.0 it will not transfer video data as fast as amd with pcie 4.0, but since the difference is so small between pcie 3.0 and 4.0 it will almost not make a difference at all TL:DR yes, that intel or any amd chip which still using B450 or older mobo can still use any nvidia 3000 series
@rogierx
@rogierx 4 жыл бұрын
@@andikamirza7141 Yes of course it will run, but you will need 16 lanes @PCIe 3.0 to your CPU when AMD provides the same bandwidth at 8x lanes because it offers PCIe 4.0
@YTHandlesWereAMistake
@YTHandlesWereAMistake 4 жыл бұрын
Andika Mirza technically the difference between them isn’t small (the total throughput is almost double if you count the overhead), but you’re still bottlenecked by what your other components can do with all that data throughput so it isn’t really affected by pci3 vs pci4, at least right now. And probably won’ be affected *that much* by it in the nearest releases. Maybe in some synthetics and/or benchmarks, but it’s likely to be under 5% difference, so almost nobody should care.
@rogierx
@rogierx 4 жыл бұрын
@@johnnyelfilo I expect to see 16 lanes of intel PCIe 3.0 saturated with RTX3090 well into the future when an AMD cpu and chipset has no problem with 16 lanes of PCIe 4.0 since 12 months ago. Even IF it does only at 90%, it is great that you need only 8 lanes of PCIe 4.0 compared to 16 lanes of PCIe 3.0 with intel. In case you get a RX5700XT or RTX3090
