Buildzoid, you ooze with valuable information. Your off-the-cuff comment at 18:08 about the 133 strap being more stable helped me get my DDR4 3200 kit (F4-3200C14D-16GTZR) from DDR4 4000 17-18-18-37 to DDR4 4000 16-17-17-35 with better secondaries and tertiaries too just by changing the bclk:dram freq ratio from auto to 100:133. Fucking hell yes! THANK YOU!
@bananya6020
@bananya6020 2 жыл бұрын
just as a warning though, i got slightly worse speeds on 100:133. doesn't really matter too much though i think if you can drop any timings at all it's probably ending up better--i just kinda... can't, because my ram completely lost the silicon lottery and doesn't even really run at stock.

1 IO-L ~ 0.1 ns of latency, so 14-14 vs. e.g. 6-6 would be (14-6)*2 * 0.1ns = 1.6ns of latency you lose by not tuning those

For RTL's I've always just dropped the IOL's to 7 (6 if tweak mode 2) and then dropped the respective RTL's as much as it took to get to 7 (6) IOL's. Works 99% of the time.

I went to try the settings you change for my ballistix kit and when I got in the bios, totally different layout and timing names. I got mine to 4000MHz on the gigabyte b450m ds3h motherboard but the latency is really high compared to yours mine was in the 70s. The read speed was 56000+ had to use 18-21-21-38 to get them stable, I was hoping to get closer to your scores, but I think maybe the motherboard limits the options. Love your vids btw so informative 👌👌😂😂

Buildzoid, since your video on Ballistix easy overclocking to 5000 the other day, most 2x16 kits are sold out everywhere. I wanted a 2x16 3600 kit but ended up ordering a 2x32c18 3600 from crucial.com. I wonder how these dual rank dimms will do on Unify/3900X. I would be happy if you do a vid like this one on Ryzen.

Supposedly people have been running 1.65V for 4700C17 1T on Coffee Lake for a year now and it hasn't degraded, so dunno, but seems fine for daily

4Gbps Rev.B (yours) doesn't share much with 8Gb Rev.B which doesn't share much with 16Gb Rev.B (this), about the only thing common is the manufacturer, everything else including silicone feature size used is different! It'd be REALLY surprising if any 4Gb chip provides any insight WHATSOEVER into any 16Gb chip. Yes, they're that different.
