Your tip at 9:20 saved me from a boot loop that had taken up hours and hours of my time, after I'd flashed this board to F6d, which was a completely broken release meant to quickly patch the backdoor exploits that Gamer's Nexus just reported for this and a bunch of other Gigabyte boards. They JUST uploaded bios F6 (the stable release). Even though it's dated many days ago, the upload just happened, one day after I'd flashed to F6d and my memory reset and boot loop troubles started. Thanks man!

33:50 - also dropping temperature by 10C should increase the rating roughly 2 times. At least this is how it used to be for electrolitic caps. So if caps operate at 75C instead of 105C the rating should increase to 80k hours.

@@Mom19this is false…not all z790’s are created equal. U clearly have NO idea what ur attempting to talk about. Stop giving advice. It’s bad.
@Mom192 ай бұрын
@@godnamedtay of course they're not created equal. But if you're not into XOC or pushing extreme boundaries, you won't be having problems. Unless you go with the absolute bottom of the barrel trashcan stuff. There's a certain threshold where spending extra simply doesn't make sense unless you need more features, more IO or other things. This person talked about "comfortable use" of a 13700KF. Which literally every Board out there is able to do unless you try to hunt down the absolute bottom of the barrel cheap junk you manage to find. They haven't asked for XOC, they haven't asked for massive IO. They haven't asked for super crazy RAM OC. So why should you buy a board that has a ton of stuff, you don't need, want or can actually take advantage of? That's just burning money for unused potential. My advice isn't bad, its simply just not as detailed as it could have been, the person in question didn't even ask back for anything so I couldn't even figure out what their use case is or what they want to do with it EXACTLY. But if you can judge what someone needs just by the phrase "comfortable use", then go for it. Say what you think and give better advice than me. Instead of hating or ranting, give a better example. Understand the question better than me and figure out what is actually required here. I've yet to see a person that needs a crazy high end or even upper high end board that asks such questions to begin with.

Hello friends, greetings from Ecuador. I hope you can help me with ideas with a thing is happening to my computer, that has the mobo you described here, processor Intel Core i7-13700K, Bios version F2. First, I have my cpu connected to energy, and you can see mainboard status leds are off. As soon as I turn on my computer, those leds sequentially turn on and off, I don't know too much about motherboards, but I assume those leds show the POST process steps when the computer is booting. Finally when computer turns on, all status leds are off and I can use computer normally, the odd situation comes when I turn off the computer, as soon as the cpu is off, the CPU status led turns on. This happens too when the PC and monitor enters to standby mode after an idle period, and as soon as I begin using computer again, that led is off. I want to know if this behavior of CPU status led is normal or not? As I said, that only happens when the motherboard is off after shutting computer down, not when it is off when you first connect cpu to energy at the beginnig of day. This could cause me short or long term problems? Should I ignore that problem or send the motherboard to technician? (all the pc components are brand new, I have them only from a week ago). I appreciate your help, thanks in advance. Here is a short I made describing the situation (sorry pronunciation 😅) kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpqmdaqDgcmbeqM

Or should i buy the 6000 CL36-38-38 Version for 156€? I've heard you say something about the different chips and there capabilities, are these the same ones? Would you expect i can just change the DRAM frequency to 6400, leave the Rest and run MEMTEST86 or am i missing something important?
@a_void Жыл бұрын
I would say that running at 6000 with hand tightened timings is better than 6400 with xmp timings and most likely easier to get stable. I have no experience with any recent AMD cpus though but this is what I've gathered from reading and listening to various people with more knowledge.

when you go past intels official limits the memory controller speed is cut in half. I didn't realize until I fired up CPUZ and it stated that. I have a 13700KF and DDR4 memory 4000mhz CL16 but it cut the memory controller in half to 2000mhz. IT WILL NOT POST OR RUN WINDOWS if you turn the memory controller to it's full speed. This should be false advertising but AMD has problems as well running 4 dimms I believe. It makes your memory latency go much higher when this happens. (my memory latency went from 56ns to 65ns) I can see or feel it because I am not a fan of cheap memory like CL16 3200mhz. I've been doing it so long I pretty know what type of ram is in a computer as low latency memory is what I always go for.

Aren't Gigabyte releasing refreshed LGA 1700 Aorus "X" motherboards precisely because 14th Gen Intel CPUs are going to be compatible? They have 8 layer PCBs as standard, Wi-Fi 7 with an "Ultra-high gain antenna", Quick Release M.2 covers ("EZ-Latch"), and a back reinforced PCIe slot supposedly to stop the 40 series cards from sagging like an octogenerian's mamms. And I think I saw ASUS are doing something similar so they can flog some more of their tacky ROG filth for £730 a pop. AMD has certainly forced Intel to stop completely fleecing everyone (not that we're not still getting bent over a barrel by everyone anyway with the way the market is now).

have Rx 570 itx pulse mini, it's powered by 6pin connector only and has 10A fuse to the connector. On the pcie slot it has 8A fuse. Power limit of the card is 120w, and can be changed via adrenaline or msi afterburner to +50% so 180w total. We all know that this is only the chip power and TBP will be like 30w more at least, so total 210w. Something doesn't add up. Giving the fact that pcie connector can only provide up to 75w, and the 6 pin connector is limited to 120w max by the fuse, total 75+120=195. How can the bios of the card permit something like that? shouldn't the fuse blow when using max power limit in something like furmark? well I've tried and it didn't. What do you think about that?

As long as I can use a sound card, I'm inclined to agree. But since no sound card I care about is supported at all in Windows 11, I basically either have to go AMD or just completely disable the error cores to use this board with windows 10.

what sound cards are you into that dont work in W11? Have not heard about this issue - most, if not all, cards that worked in 10 just carry right over. I mean, I personally, am only using a lowly Audigy FX, so I assume you live in a world of much higher end and niche stuff.
@ZeroHourProductions407 Жыл бұрын
@@xBINARYGODx Creative hasn't made a single driver to support _any_ Audigy or X-Fi series cards on Windows 11, full stop. Daniel K's final repack _in theory_ should work, which would basically let all of those work; however, even in his posting about it he did warn that any significant kernel/driver model change could break support. And Microsoft *has a precedent* of doing that, as was the case with Windows 10 not even a couple years ago. I also have a set of Razer Tiamat 7.1 v2's, so having 7.1 analog audio out is kind of a big deal now. The repacked drivers from Daniel K also allow me to use stuff like ALchemy on Windows 10 at least, so even legacy games that still expect EAX support work as they should with it. So not having a supported option in 11 is one big reason I'm holding off on even trying the OS on anything.
