Hey guys, this is my Mobvoi Ticwatch E (Express) Android Wear Smart Watch Review - 2018.
It's an affordable Android Wear Smart Watch, with a lot of features for the money. I may even go as far as saying that this could well be the best Android Wear Smart Watch of 2018...at this price point.
Sure, there are plenty of things that could be better such as higher specs and better battery life, but to get better features you need to spend more money. What Mobvoi offer here is a goodAndroid Wear device, at a good price. Plus...it looks great too!
There are also other, more expensive Ticwatch models in their range, however as they have higher specs, they also have a higher price tag.
If you are looking for a cheaper Android Wear Smart Watch, then the Mobvoi Ticwatch E (Express) really isn't a bad option at all!

Great video review but 2 things I need to address. You mentioned the charge only lasts a day but I'm okay with this since I set my phone to charge every night. Also, you regarded it could benefit from more RAM and a faster processor but these 'improvements' might drive up the cost and one of attractive features of this watch, for me, is the price.

Also, you are totally right. More ram and a faster processor will drive the price up. So I think in order to keep the price as respectable as it is, Mobvoi have done the very best they can 👍🏻 It's a great watch. For sure! 😎

That is totally correct, but the issue is always that most android watches just don't play well with iOS, thats the problem.

It is really disappointing that it doesn't come with a power brick? What is that about? I get the low cost but goodness. I liked that branding of the watch on the band. I prefer watches that have a dock you can just sit it into but that is just personal preference. Is the crown of the watch actually on the left side of the watch or did you have the watch flipped around? That seems so backwards as I always see them on the right? I have had the Moto 360 and the Gear S3 Frontier and both make it about a day. Charging each night, to me, is not an issue as we charge our phones each night so I just plug them in at the same time. Great review Roger, super clean as always mate!

Haha, thanks Aaron. A lot of the watches I have looked at just don't seem to come with a power brick. I think including that in the box would be a good idea or Mobvoi. Out of the box the crown / button is actually on the left...hahaha. True though what you are saying, some of them are on the right as standard. Yes, I guess you are right. I got this watch 2 days ago from Amazon and i also ordered the Samsung gear s3 because i just couldn't decide between the two. Ill be getting the gear s3 tomorrow. The ticwatch works wonderfully and is a true smartwatch unlike many cheap chinese types however im just concerned about it's durability since its plastic as well as its rather thick body that just isnt anything to ohhhh and awe about looks wise and doesn't give a premium look n feel without the help of a nice watchface so im still in the fence about it. Ill be wearing both daily to get a good comparison and may be returning one of them.

Life of Tech so after a day of trying them both it is clear that the Samsung Gear S3 is the winner in every way. Although they able function pretty similarly I find it a lot nicer to be able to control navigation with the rotating bezel and the buttons on the S3 as opposed to having two touch the screen so much on the TIC watch and I just love the premium quality of the metal housing on the S3 in fact immediately upon opening it I just got so excited with the way it looked and felt everything about it just screams quality. Although it can be nearly three times as much as the ticwatch I found mine brand new on eBay for around $240. So I will be either returning the ticwatch or possibly giving it to a friend that doesn't care so much about the thickness or material because don't get me wrong the ticwatch does offer everything you could want software wise just not in a premium package.

Awesome! Some of the more expensive Android Wear devices are really nice. I think the Ticwatch E is a good all-rounder for a cheaper smart watch, but the S3 is a very nice device, for sure. Glad you found one you like anyway 😃👍🏻

Danielchibi hey dude, how is the gear in terms of watchfaces options to the Wear Os/Tic watch? Does the gear get access to all the watch faces in the play store?

There are some faces I love on the gear and some I love for Wear os that arn't avail on the other so you can't have everything on either watch so it's always a trade off. There are elements I wish I had from the Ticwatch and there are elements I like better on the gear however I now only wear the gear watch and my wife wears the ticwatch. The most frustrating thing about the gear is the voice assist is nearly useless because it can't hear me or understand me in normal conditions unless I speak very slowely with no other noise unlike the voice assist on the tic watch that works beautifully however I do love the more rugged look of the gear and the ability to use samsung pay which I have been using all the time now and it's great. There is defiantly more apps out there for the wear os and I wish I had that on the gear but I guess you can't have it all. I know there's the tic watch pro that has a metal housing to it but I just don't like the look of it as much. I think the look of the gear frontier is so nice and I haven't seen another watch that looks as nice but the tic watch E I would say is the 2nd choice for me if I didn't have the gear s3 because I still love that minimalist look. I don't know how many faces are avail for each type of watch but it seems like many, but I would suspect the wear OS would have more available but some faces are only for wear os or gear. I first started wearing the ticwatch so I had some faces I really liked on there already so when i got the gear s3 the first thing I was doing was trying to get the same faces for it but they were not avail however some of the faces I was trying to install on the ticwatch before that I were wanting but couldn't find for wear os were avail for the gear so I got to get those so both watches have plus and minuses but in the end both do the same thing pretty much. If only samsung would fix the voice assist on the gear it would be nearly perfect.

Lol...that's true, I did say that! If you check the time only and don't do anything else, you could get a couple of days usage out of it. If you are using fitness tracking features however, or other apps...you'll need to charge it every day. No big deal for me to be honest. I have a few Xiaomi watches that last for 7 days on one charge...but they don't have anywhere near the same capabilities as the Tic Watch 👍🏻 Thanks for watching!
