I see the crank seals seem to have the spring facing the crank web, is this correct? I am told by a Mobylette mechanic that the seal spring must face away from the crank web. Very confusing issue the seal fitting on these engines 🙄

It´s a glass bead blasted process..............

What should the compression be on the 50cc. mine is 75-80 psi. Thank you Danke

80-90 psi should be ok.

klvogl Thank you, for your reply. Today I tightened everything down and re-cleaned the main jet and she fired up straight away. I now have to get it to tick over, maybe a slight adjustment of the timing. Thanks again John UK

Thank you for sharing! And, nice cat ;-) I have a 1953 Mobylette which is next up for restoration. The moped is complete but I would like know if it is still possible to buy spare parts for these old 2-stroke engines. Do you know of any online dealers?
