Really awesome that engine and the whole hotrod. One question here: have you tried to RC'fy the car with a bottle of compressed air spray or iSi soda capsule and an Sbrick for remote controling? That would be the ultimate compressed air rc machine.

Is there a one way, 2 entrance valve you could use to put one good blast of air in to get the LPE up to a sufficient rpm so that the car goes without needing more air? The pistons then producing their own pressure as it goes??

Green Gecko Lego Technic Workshop I wonder why not.. in theory, a one way, dual input valve would.. but then there’s the issue of charging the engine with enough pressure to keep it going.. air leaks in minor imperfections.. yeah.. I see how it won’t work.

@Giraffiti

I’m building a Technic DeLorean MOC and I’d like to put a V6 LPE in it but I don’t have much, if any, knowledge on them. Does the LPE produce any air pressure and if so, how? I plan to use a buggy motor as my main propulsion but I need some pneumatic power for braking and for the hydraulic doors and have an empty engine bay. I may also use the extra pressure to store in a dump tank which goes back into the engine, simulating a rev.
@GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop
@GreenGeckoLegoTechnicWorkshop 6 жыл бұрын
Unless your DeLorean is going to be 1/8th scale there will be limited room for everything, LPEs pretty much take air in and push it out the exhausts on the switches. you cant easily capture the exhaust pressure. Pneumatics will work fine for the doors.
@Giraffiti
@Giraffiti 6 жыл бұрын
Green Gecko Lego Technic Workshop, yup, I’m going 1:8 scale. Another reason why I want an LPE, because my engine bay would be really empty.

I might've missed something, but if the controller has to be connected to the car, how does the car drive around and be controlled if the car is just dragging the controller? Dumb question I know, I'd imagine you'd just have a really really long air tube, great build by the way! I love how the wheels can turn

I think you should give it more torque that way you will receive better power and takeoff by using a smaller and a larger gear

You could consider making a car with an actual gearbox and the v8 engine. A four-wheel-Drive System would be dope as well!

I imagine that none of the current LEGO compressor designs could run this, could they? It feels like it shouldn’t be that complicated, but I’ve never done anything with technic, so I don’t have a clue.

Requires a lot of airflow and pressure, Lego compressors can power my Pneumatic Engines.... It's just easier to use a Air Tank
