Great tutorial and channel! I subscribed. (Just a tip: try using a clearer/more legible font in your thumbnails. And try adding an image into your thumbnail that reflects the content of the video better. I'm sure you'd get way more views then!). You're really nice to listen to and you explain things well. Awesome!
@Mochibeans3 жыл бұрын
I'll take your feedback into account, thanks! I was also thinking of changing the font in my videos, as well as the thumbnail to make it slightly more legible, but yeah thanks for the compliments too :3

What's the hex of the colors you used?
@Mochibeans3 жыл бұрын
It was just a gradient from orange to purple, but if you want the exact colours, they were: F9C5C4, EFA9C5, D1A8D9, AE9EE1 and 8D87E1 for the sky.

I'm Brazilian and I have difficulty understanding English. my question is about the clouds when the sky is at night, where the light comes from the moon and not from the sun, any tips?
@Mochibeans2 жыл бұрын
Ooh that's a good question, at night, the only difference when drawing would be the colours. There would be less contrast between the clouds and the sky so the colours would be more similar. Try looking at images because you will see that the colours are all very desaturated and dark, as the moon has less light than the sun.

What application are this?
@Mochibeans3 жыл бұрын
I’m using the in-built pixel art engine from Gamemaker Studio 2, however any application is fine, as long as you can put pixels on a screen! I’d recommend aseprite the most because if you get used to it it’s probably the best option.

How to create a gradient effect on the sky and water in pixel art?
@Mochibeans Жыл бұрын
Hmm, gradients are tricky in pixel art. You could either go with dithering, blocks of colour just moving to the other colour, or if you wanna break the rules a little, use an actual gradient haha For reflections I just tend to flip the sky, texture it and flatten it and that works pretty well :p I think it requires some experimentation to find what fits you!

is it bad that i saw the bad clouds and i look at my art and say, "Hey, those look like my clouds! *wait*....."
@Mochibeans3 жыл бұрын
Don’t worry I genuinely made those clouds a few months ago and only when looking back I realised, “wait that’s not how clouds look 👀 ” It took me a while to get the hang of it too haha

What software do you use?
@Mochibeans8 ай бұрын
Hey there, in this video I used the pixel art software in Gamemaker, but ive moved to aseprite now which is just a bit more adaptable and pixel art specific. This is a paid software but you can get lots of free alternatives! If you join our discord we have a list pinned in the art discussion channel which should hopefully clear some stuff up, and alternatively there's a heeat video by Brandon James Greer on pixel art software.

which app was used to do the pixel art?
@Mochibeans Жыл бұрын
In this I used the art editor embedded in gamemaker, but I would recommend any software that you're already comfortable in! I had been making games for a while so that software was just most comfortable for me. Now I've mlved to Aseprite just because it's a aspecialised pixel art editor
