A thing that instantly made my art look less "flat" was learning approximately how perspective works. No need for the technical stuff. Just learning how to draw a cylinder positioned and rotated in any direction in space will help you immensely, then you can try bending and distorting them, and voila, you've got your trees.

I would have taken on an entire course only to learn how to make this video. Wow. You make those short little tree animations so cool. Do you really use only Aseprite for all your animations? (Like for example, the screen transition at 1:58). Or do you use some other animation software?
