The cube @32:50 was a No Double because it was too good? Or was it the score?

I would usually make 2nd anchor (either on 24p or 23p) and my games looks good. It is called backgame and very strong strategy. His cube is early because 1) I have a strong backgame option 2) he is leading in the score so he should be more concervative.
