He is technically right, IB deals with different businesses financially, consultants actually have to know that specific type of business/industry in order to advise them, it's smarter for consultants to stick to same type of businesses. IB only do financials.

To anyone even REMOTELY considering this, DONT. It's a HORRIBLE answer to give because it doesn't show you're taking the initiative nor are you passionate about the job.If you were truly just in it for the money, then be a plumber or something. This answer just shows that you're doing this for the sake of money and not actually enjoying the company, the culture, or the work you or your peers do.

It’ll show you’re just a really shallow person, you don’t care for the company and will bounce the second you find something else, you’ll be a pretty terrible coworker and won’t work well in a team environment.

That's unstated. Everyone knows I-Bankers makes a lot of money. These questions are a knowledge check, they're trying to figure out if you speak the language of finance.

Yes true, I have been in touch with a brokerage Advisor. With an initial starting reserve of $80k, my advisor chooses the entry and exit commands for my portfolio, which has grown to approximately $550k.
