@seanmccartney3011 it's a balance of not rushing and being in a hurry. The only advice I can give is to have planned what to do before arriving at the junction instead of get there and start planning and get hesitation fir missing a couple of clear gaps roundabouts look for the gaps whete if you look at the cars you miss the gaps. Rush and not check you will fail.

After passing driving test should you put P plates? As I’m not sure some people are saying it’s a bad idea as other drivers can be very rude to new drivers, how ever some people are saying it’s a good thing for safety.
@ericy45228 ай бұрын
I'm not an instructor, but a P-plate is useful to other drivers, as it's a useful warning that you're a newly passed driver and may still make some moves unexpectedly, especially if you're encountering something new, or driving somewhere you haven't driven before.
@aisharahimi36038 ай бұрын
@@ericy4522 thanks a lot! I’ll use them then☺️ Also I’m struggling with parking after passing my test, do you have any tips? Also I’m nervous to drive by myself.. I’ve only driven 2 times but my partner sat next to me as he’s experienced..
@ericy45228 ай бұрын
@@aisharahimi3603 Practice makes perfect. But what you could do is keep going out with your partner, but gradually get them to give you less help & warnings, so you have to do things using your own judgement, until you feel confident to try short journeys on you own, and then make longer and longer ones. As for parking, you could consider paying for a driving instructor to just give you ONLY parking lessons. I expect you could cover most situations in 2 or 3 lessons at most. Alternatively find empty parking lots when say supermarkets or shopping centres are closed and practice parking exactly in the middle of spaces without going over lines. Similarly along streets with marked parking spaces.

If you had to use dual controls tho how would of been his fault if the pedestrian walked out of his light to turn left was green as long as he braked in time or went to brake as u use controls would it of been okay?
@ericy45228 ай бұрын
He should have assessed there were multiple possible hazards and slowed down earlier to give the cyclist more time to get ahead, hence more space, which would also have allowed the pedestrian to either stop or start crossing. It would not have been his fault if the pedestrian stepped out without looking, but it is his responsibility to not assume the pedestrian would stop and/or look. At the speed he was going, he would be turning left at the same time as the pedestrian could step out. Slowing down earlier solves all those problems. Of course, if it was dark or raining, it would be harder to spot the pedestrian, but then your speed should be even more moderated to take account of the worse driving conditions.

You’re allowed to cross the solid white line of a cycle lane to enter and exit a driveway and to enter and exit a side road, is it the same for the solid white line of a bus lane?
@TheBenenen8 ай бұрын
Bus lanes are usually broken up at side roads so no real concern, and in the case of drive ways, of course you can cross them to enter or exit a driveway, otherwise you would never be able to get in or out

@@ianbown3543 Yea, so I was was wondering wether there is a difference in rules. Can you explain please?
@sgkingly83926 ай бұрын
The highway code in the UK states that you should give way to pedestrians when turning into a junction but it was a fairly recent addition and poorly communicated and explained leading to a bit of chaos where some pedestrians think they have to wait for cars while some drivers know about the rule and some don't leading to lots of confusion at junctions. Whenever I try to yield to pedestrians when it's safe to do so turning into a junction they either get very confused and hesitate or rush across the road. You also get situations when the road continues straight ahead but pedestrians just walk out without looking because they think cars should yield or on the bend because they think it's a junction. It's just been so poorly communicated
