unfortunately the author of this story died, one of his family members did pick up the pen and continued he's work. The reason I remember this story is because of MC's method of obtaining OP skills was to Appraise thousands of slimes until he had dry bloodshot eyes just for that one skill he wanted, reminds me of endlessly loading a save state for a better rng drop.

A couple times the MC doesnt steal his opponent's abilities at the very start of the fight. As soon as he decides he is commiting to a fight the first thing he should do is steal their abilities. It is so dumb to fight without stealing their abilities. If he wants I am pretty sure he can paste their abilities back on to them afterwards. I don't see any reason why he shouldn't be able to. That way if its not a fight to the death and he doesn't want them to know his capabilities at most they will think he disabled their abilities temporarily. They will have no clue what his true powers are.

Thank you.. it irritated me to no end.. “Dumb Author” is a little more fitting as no one would simply let themselves be killed (not hurt, KILLED) because they didn’t want to expose a secret. His attackers fist was bigger than his own body. The Mc only had 50 million skills to pick from in that instance. He was there to become an adventurer not an insurance salesman so using one of his many skills should have been trivial. As you say.. I find the worse bit about it to be that the MC wants to both keep his skills a secret AND save anyone in need, when really, doing one will mean failing to do the other. That's often the case with these stories where characters can limitlessly copy or steal skills, the authors often don't know how to write the story in a way where the character will actually use all those skills effectively, or they just end up literally forgetting what skills they gave the character. The stories that incorporate the ability to obtain endless skills the best usually have the MC obtain a way to synthesize multiple of the skills into one better skill, to kinda prune the excess so they don't end up with a list of skills so big that the author forgets what they can do, and is also often paired with a rapid scaling in strength of the opponents they face to make the synthesized skills pop out as the crutch that wins them the next battle. Even then they're usually not amazing stories though, but I like reading them during my breaks at work when I'm not in the right headspace to read something with a deeper plot.
