Stick to your bodywork and leave the suspension work to somebody that knows about it. You're gonna get somebody killed with that unless you're just gonna use it to look at. Don't run it at any speed. Front suspension is to weak and rear should not be solid mount

Just looking through the dozens of full custom made cars Chad has built both on TV and off . It seems to me he must build safe cars and get them sold since he doesn't have 40 cars on his lot . in each Canadian province we have safety standards and the car will have to be inspected to be safe for the road . The evet they are taking the car to will also I am sure have to approve the car .So I guess if they work 10 months on it and it cant be used that will be that. Chad is about positivity and self promotion I am sure amazed at the followers who come here to be negative . the answer would be to start your own car company to set the world straight on the proper way to do everything . Please post your custom built projects and all your happy customers .yea i guess not eh .

I enjoy the thought process that you use! After years of looking a service manuals, I have to sketch or draw something out. I don’t know anything out you inline 6, but I had a used car manager with an old Pontiac Chief that ran hot. After finding a book, we found the block casting were crude, simple and open inside except for the piston cylinders. With water pump removed, the passengers side has a rectangular shaped, almost oval brass tube, that mated to the water pump in front and hung free-style in the block. It had louvers cut / stamped on the cylinder side to direct the flow of coolant between the castings. They were a little small in the front and each one was later at the rear. A digital non-contact thermometer confirmed the back was 50 degrees F hotter than the front. He found one, new gasket and re-used the water pump. A relief cut in the block w/gasket and water pumped torqued in place, created a great seal and solved the heating. Since there is no radiator or coolant, I would ask before making it hard to service. Just thinking out loud! Best of luck!

Lean on your skillset. Make a cardboard template of the wheel shape on top of the frame. Transfer that template to the body and see where things need to be to fit with the wheel arch where you want it. Take measurements. Check and recheck and proceed to the section cuts and welds. You got this, Bad Chad! You might want to include a yardstick to that template to indicate the top edge of the frame going forward to align along the bottom line of the body.

If you weld them on the bottom it raises the frame which makes everything sit higher the body ect. Weld it on top it lowers the frame and body allows the body to sit down over the wheel more in the wheel wells

A gasser is a type of hot rod originating on the dragstrips of the United States in the late 1950s and continued until the early 1970s.[1][2] In the days before Pro Stock, the A/Gas cars were the fastest stock-appearing racers around.[3]

I am enjoying the fun your having and the natural talent you have. I wonder if I can ask about the cutting you did to close in the chassis rails to get the dimensions you need. As you look from the back of the chassis looking towards the engine, on the right hand chassis member there is a metal strap fitted b 3d tween the member and the piece you where cutting to bring it together with a ratchet strap. I wondered if you you had cut that away it may have released the the member and allowed it to be pulled in by the strap without the need for zip cuts. You achieved the result you required, I was just curious. I am forever thankful for your channel it is a wonderful distraction from the problems I have due to my health. I am so keen to see the bugatti build for Jolene and hoping for a new bad Chad show on the network. Best wishes and stay safe John

Going with that tall of a tire is going to cut down your rear end gear ratio which is going to slow the car down I know you will not spend the money on a set proper set of gears and have them set up properly so I would save time and money and go with shorter tires And you will not have to modify the body

@harleytwincam2

Having the rear end mounted solidly to the frame is not going to work very well. Without rear suspension, any bump will cause the rear to bounce and you will lose traction. Certainly not what you want for a race car. It is not just going to be a rough ride, it will be unsafe. Hitting a bump while in a curve will cause the rear of the car to get loose and the car will spin out. Even the most powerful Top Fuel dragsters with 10,000 hp have a rear suspension. Please reconsider and put in a spring and shocks so the car will be safe to drive.

To be clear I think Chad is an amazing metal worker. However it is a shame he is delving into an area where he has no expertise. He has destroyed a Hup frame a restorer would have cherished. That front suspension is cheesy and weak as heck. I have never seen a rear differential as a solid mount. Also angle of that engine is going to starve the front bearings of oil.

Yeah, he needs to study up on chassis design and quit playin’ the “in my mind” game of roulette. No rear suspension is a good way to make a fast 90° turn at speed. The Bugatti suspension doesn’t seem safe either. If he is just building yard art, it’s fine. If he’s trying to build a custom hotrod brand, he’s shooting himself in his left foot, both of them!!
