I couldn't get to IIT and I'm not even a Mechanical Engineering student but I have the UTMOST respect for Shri SK Som. Honestly, I'm always moved to tears when I see his lectures now, knowing that he's no longer with us. He will always have the respect of millions and millions of students and I'm sure he was proud of what he was able to achieve. Thank you, Sir...thank you so so much. Om shanti 😞😞

Awesome lectures on Fluid Mechanics! Prof. Som is best! I've read a complete book on fluid mechanics but here, in each and every lecture, I'm learning some new things. Its just awesome how he relate every small things and all things seems obvious and so simple! Even though NPTEL lectures are bit slow but totally worth it! Thanks MHRD for such great initiative!

Really critically resolved introduction of the subject. Although I did find a little flaw (or rather a query) while watching the video right from the beginning to the end. The lecture begins and smoothly glides through the Power Law Model pertinent to the Non-Newtonian Fluids.While nomenclature of the terms in the equation (Ostwald-de-Waele) goes on, the 'n' and 'm' are termed Flow Consistency and Flow Behavioral Index respectively. At the end of the lecture, when a little preview or summarization begins, the nomenclature is changed or corrected. This came out a little confusing, until Wikipedia came to the rescue! :) Overall a great lecture!

It May or May not for UPSC.... Here in these lectures basics of various topics of subjects are explained. ..this is not bad. But in UPSC ESE you'll need to master on basics and it's application. .. UPSC checks engineers at their application to various practical level problems because one day they Will be posted in various higher posts of Central Govt. which is highly responsible job... Only relying on NPTEL lectures Will not be sufficient. .. They maybe clearing some of your confusion/doubts...there may be some topics which may not be relevant for UPSC while useful for GATE...... Analysis of past question papers will give you a clear idea how to approach... Also remember there's a Personal Interview at last where they again checks your engineered mind... My suggestion - If you are damn serious Join some good institute in the market and develop competitive attitude. . Clearing UPSC needs strong basics, quick problem solving skill, accuracy and proper Focus.... Wish you good luck.
@StudySimplifiedOnline
@StudySimplifiedOnline 4 жыл бұрын
@@318dhanush5 No it will not help you completely for GATE..But its helpful to understand the subject basics and concepts...First understand the subject from here then try to solve problems of different types on your own...Better Take a past GATE papers and see if you can solve at least 60% of it accurately. ..Remember there are negative markings. ...if you can attempt 60/70% accurately then you dont need any coaching....you just need to practice and attempt mock tests...Good Luck
