When delta Y is tending to zero then it is going to neglect the whole term why only Delta Y is removed only not the whole term please explain 15:02

In deriving the relation for change in density with Mach number, is the changing of derivatives into change in values valid for shocks in compressible flow, which are a form of discontinuity( mean value theorem).

It is understood that density strain is half square of mach no. could this be related to volumetric strain?

I am not getting Mach number as he is defined a is propgation of disturbance in a medium in which fluid is flowing. How much medium is there?. please anyone reply.

While deriving that pressure is a scalar(like doesnt need any specification of direction) prof. assumed that fluid element is at rest and in the end also stated that it may also be accelerated as rigid body. Is this necessary to assume no shear forces to prove that that its a scalar? Depending on the answer pls anybody suggest sme proof nd reasoning..

Mohit Saini 'I don't think we can prove this way that pressure is scalar, assuming fluid in motion thus considering shear components of stress tensors. It will require tensor calculus and more effort to confirm an obvious statement 'pressure is scalar!''

sir u have proved pascal's law considering forces acting on a point. How can i accept it for bigger bodies? What I mean to ask is how can i show this to be true for bigger bodies submerged inside a fluid?

It is not true for bigger bodies submerged under fluid. What sir wanted to prove was pressure is measured at a point in any direction [pascal's law as you said] is equal. It can only be done when we make the lengths of the triangle [wedge] as zero.
