At 10:23, I suppose it should be BE(aXz). Also the whole term should not be multiplied with c^2 when Q is equated in terms of BE.

Yes when B.E term is there c^2 is already multiple...

i had one doubt at the last..but i think the potential barrier which u mentioned should be a nuclear potential barrier rather than coulomb barrier..correct me if i m wrong

For A greater than equal to 150 we get Q value positive but I can't understand that for 160 170 we may got some stable nuclei for which Q is negative can anyone explain me ?

how come proton change to neutron,law of conservation of mass is violate
@chetan120
@chetan120 4 жыл бұрын
as mass of neutron>mass of proton then in beta plus decay energy should be negative{[m(p)-m(n)-m(e)]×931.5MeV}, but in overall reaction we see that energy is releasing ,this energy comes from binding energy of nucleus{∆m=(∆E÷C^2)} thats why beta minus decay is more spontaneous than beta plus decay

sir can u explain me why half life is very important in nuclear physics why not full life time is there any reason behind this... Any one can ans
@abhimanyusharma2185
@abhimanyusharma2185 7 жыл бұрын
because technically they never decay completely, always some part even if minute remains . hence there is no full life .
@manjeetchahal5548

actually you can take anything other than full life which cannot be meaured

Full life of every neuclear reaction is always infinite
@kiranwani4833
@kiranwani4833 6 жыл бұрын
Because theoretically total time required to decay any radioactive element is infinite..so it is not possible to use total life time of an radioactive element...so we use half life time..
