With three changes, that might be worth it for me. 1. Left side mounting (a mounting solution that lets you use either side), because I live in a drive-on-the-left country. 2. _Double_ that weight allowance, I want to carry an adult passenger. 3. Make the front hinge down. Instead of having to climb in like a kayak, just sit in it like a chair and close it up. Easier for human passengers, and easier for dogs that don't much like to jump.

You could skip the swap mounting solution by putting it on the front. But then it's just a Bakfiets

Move the sidecar wheel further forward, about 6". It'll make your clockwise turning circle tighter, whilst not affecting the tracking when heading straight. :)

I’m working on a plan for a side car. This design had some good ideas. It’s much cheaper to just ad one to a cheap Ebike.

I looked at this bike two years ago and thought it was one of the coolest looking bikes on the market at that time. It still looks cool, but the pricing on the bike is way out of line for what you get for the bike alone. This bike should be selling for less than $2000 when compared with other bikes of this style.

All I can think of is that I could probably hook up 2 Burley Travoy trailer carts! If I had 4k+ to spend, I would totally go for this! At the very least, you could stick a couple extra batteries and a solar panel on the sidecar!

Is that amber headlight street legal? I know mostly bike lighting isn't regulated in many ways, but if this was a class 3/moped level vehicle you'd like to have brake lights head lights and ideally turn signals that conform to the standards of the rest of the vehicles on the road.

Because I'd love for manufacturers to conform to the standards of other road vehicles for safety and communication.

I could see this worsening the riding experience on roads with motor traffic. Because it's so wide, it places your body and the main bike further into harm's way when there is no bike infrastructure and you're riding on the side of the road. I know from riding a recumbent trike that a wider three wheeler always has that effect but in that case my trike is still only the width of mountain bike handlebars plus an inch or two.

Depends on the voltage, that's why Ah isn't a good way to express battery capacity. Wh is directly comparable. But for a 48V battery, 720Wh means 15Ah.

But why does everyone (almost everyone) express battery capacity in terms of Amp Hours if Watt (amps*volts) hours are more directly comparable? My 750 watt 36v motor should be slurping down 20 amps at full throttle, but the wiring is waaaay too feeble for that kind of draw, IMHO. Maybe Im just being too literal with the maths.

WOW, fantastic bike, great style and fantastic cargo-carrying feature. But... $4K..... It would have to be mechanically 100% bulletproof and have a greater autonomy to justify that. And the electric engine between the pedals, not in the rear wheel hub. But yeah! We're getting there. Looks like style and capability are at last meeting. I'll give it another couple of years.....

This bike was really easy to assemble kzbin.infoUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.

There's a ditch there and I almost teetered on the downhill part. Getting used to balancing a three-wheeler while sitting on the side takes a hot minute. But the bike is actually well put together and the sidecar joint is overbuilt.

Lots of bad reviews on this… hard to ride with the cart unless you are more skilled. Most of the reviews I read for this and the like were elderly who got it to ride their dogs along. So age could be the issue.
