Biggest issue I have with it is failure to rotate the cylinder. That is the real danger. But that is why we have secondaries in hip holsters. To quick draw when our primary fails. :P

ah I know your pain! I was having that issue and found it to be a problem with the way I reassembled the pump grip. I found that I didn't correctly put back the little spring that props back up the arms that push the mech to rotate the cylinder. I can send you a pic of the insides to compare to

after seeing this i took my crossbow and looked closer. i figured how to disassamble the bow-arms. there are two small goles, one on either side, where you can press the tab which is holding the bow-arms. you need to look from the underside.

problem is the plastic gears. they link the rotation action and the priming pump, they get stripped if you put too much of a spring in it..... trust me. mine shredded with a 7kg in it

I've seen projects where folks use driveway marker fiberglass rods to make bows and crossbows. One advantage is that you can gradually add rods to a bundle until you have as much oomph as it will handle.

The long metal rod with the plastic bits on either end is the lock that prevents you from pulling the trigger until the pump is in the forward position. It is utterly useless in a stringer, so there's no harm in removing it. Most of the other unidentified pieces you showed on camera are also part of various locks in the pump grip and trigger group that aren't essential to operation. Using a real prod creates some issues. First, you can seriously damage it by dry-firing, something that an elastic band doesn't have a problem with. This on its own creates two issues: 1) For safety, you have to either count your shots very well or leave in the dart detector, which then prevents you from using certain aftermarket darts. 2) Darts are so light overall that any prod intended for real bolts might get damaged even if you don't dry-fire, since it can only transfer so much of its potential energy into the dart. Second, a real prod and the draw weight it entails will seriously stress the plastic components, especially the many delicate moving parts inside the grip. Finally, a rigid string rather than a elastic band would very likely shred darts effortlessly. You may need to wrap the nock point in some soft fabric to give more contact area to the dart, but then it might have trouble catching and firing consistently. I've done some true bow/crossbow stuff with Nerf projectiles, and it typically has too few benefits with far too many drawbacks. Elastic bands (especially surgical tubing) are generally a cheaper option that is just as effective, if not more. What I really want to know is, how did you get the string off safely? I couldn't figure out a way to get the string off mine; I felt like it was going to break every time I tried.

Thank you! I will keep all that in mind! I was able to pull the string out far enough to untie the knot. In hind sight I should have used to vice grips to hold it in place. Would have been easier.

Yeah, I figured it out but did not catch it on camera. Near the from of the blaster are two tiny square holes on either side of the barrel. Push something into both of them and it will release the prod.

Could you show how to halve the shell of the codebreaker because when I tried to halve mines a while ago, I felt like I was breaking the shell so I had to modify the blaster with 3/4 of the shell open and it cut up my hand alot

The trick is getting the prod off. It took me a while and sadly I failed to show it in the video. Near the front of the blaster there are 2 small square holes. Push something into them both and you will be able to slide the prod right off. This was the "AHA" moment from the video.

I use Schwinn-McGuffin model J658a for the smaller screws and model J652b for the larger ones (like the Stampede). /s Seriously though, I have no idea. I think I got a set for Christmas a few years ago. A few I picked up at thrift shops. I have a small Husky I picked up at Home Depot. And the small yellow ones I got at Goodwill.

hat so i have been very busy with work so i haven't had a chance to send the springs, but i wanted to bring up something else, i decided to break out my magstrike and try to mod it (remove air restrictors/ locks) but i kinda accidentally blew up the air bladder, it was my first blaster so it has sentimental value, so i was wondering if i could send it to you for an attempt at a fix, if possible i will gladly pay for the repairs, but if not i would have you consider it a gift. would this be alright?

Captain Xavier I have an alpha trooper but sometimes when I use slam fire the blaster will stop halfway through priming and then I have to slam it back and forth to get it to get unstuck and then it will no longer be primed is something wrong with it?
