This is the best summary of Hegel on the internet. PS - If anyone is interested in a more detailed analysis of each paragraph, search for the Half Hour Hegel playlist.

I really want to appreciate the time, energy and the effort that have been put into these priceless lectures which you provide us for free. I wish you could do a separate lecture on Hegel's philosophy of right and his political ideas which you mentioned towards the end of this lecture. But given the time and energy you spent on these videos I understand that might not be feasible. thanks

@ä According to teachings of the Holy Quran we are not allowed to argue with illiterate like you. You lack clear understanding of Islam and your own religion whatever that is. For you yours religion and for me mine one. No way to compare any one with anyone else. By the grace of the God , out forefathers had amicable relationship with the hindue communities residing in NWFP before and after partition. We never ever question their dogmas whatever they professed. Just learn the things you are capable of, and do not be intruder . Regards

Great job articulating so much material for us Sir, keep them coming please, we really appreciate it. *And as for the views sir* : - I think it would help to upload a one continuous video like this and then upload a few clips on topics that relate to the present times and the discourses going on in the philosophical world/Political world. If you do that you can use relevant popular hashtags (i see you that aren't using any). - Also, work out a collaboration with other youtubers posting similar content, that will result in osmosis of the audience. I hope this helps in some way

You clearly put a great deal of effort into this lecture. Just letting you know your hard work is appreciated - this has helped me grasp (better than anything else I've come across on KZbin anyway!) Hegel's importance & influence on later thinkers, especially, of course, Marx.

How does one conceive of a slave or slavery in the figurative sense?

Great Lecture, thank you.
@andreiandrei90594 жыл бұрын
I think that in dialectical terms we must avoid favoring the thesis or the antithesis; the reification of the Idea was made by the Slave under the rule of the Master and as such, both (their interaction actually constitute the Dialectics) are equally important. So, the magic word is "both" and not any kind of either/or. China would have not become what it will become if America hasn't had become what it had become.

In my view, Hegel goes wrong when he assumes humans are innately competitive and seek domination of each other. He doesn’t seem to provide any explanation for why he thinks this, he seems to assume that his reader will accept his assertion as self evident. I would say that modern Psychology and anthropology has severely problematised this very old fashioned conception of human nature. Hegel’s particular historical, ideological norms may have influenced his views of human nature, along with an incentive to make his totalising system fit his other Dialectical explanations of Logic, (which I agree with) with an equally oppositional conception of human interaction and social relations. This flaw, as I see it, still plagues Marxist thought to this day, where only explanations which preclude any possibility of having power gifted to the less powerful by the more powerful are considered sensible.
@redlorax53803 жыл бұрын
I am no expert on Hegel, but I do not think he thought humans are innately competetive. in the current historical context, strenghtened by the super structure humans are competitive. However, as all is always in flow, this too does not have to be. from the current master slave relation, due to the slave building society, it realises it does not need the master. The fact that this thought can occur even, implies it is not inherent to humans.
