Well Terry is wrong on this occasion. The Jam 'stage' is just that, a stage shoe that was available in a myriad of colours going back to the days of music hall. Some with the side stripe, some without. 2 of the crazier combinations were orange/ purple & green/pink. They could be ordered with a soft sole or taps or normal walkers(!). George went for a nice subtle grey suede, McCartney had a brown/beige pair. Question for you: why does the Mod Shoes version of the stage shoe have 4 eyelets and not the traditional 3? I know it's quite trivial, but the little details!
