27:45 She mentions the film "Black" (2005 film) by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_(2005_film) Black revolves around a deaf-blind girl, and her relationship with her teacher who himself later develops Alzheimer's disease. The film draws inspiration from Helen Keller's life and struggle. Black was a commercial success, becoming the second highest grossing Indian film worldwide in 2005 and the highest-grossing 2005 Indian film overseas. The movie was majorly inspired or an unofficial remake of the 1962 movie The Miracle Worker

24:14 The idea of the fact that we are all temporarily abled is mentioned. Disability can come at any time and in so many forms not just congenital conditions.

19:46 Anit Desai's novel mentioned "Clear Light of Day" - www.goodreads.com/book/show/35997.Clear_Light_of_Day The spinster in the novel looks after her disabled mentally disabled brother but his voice is not heard anywhere. Talked about but not included. This is a comment on the disability movement where those without disabilities are representing the needs of those with disabilities but not with co-presentation.

40:16 She mentions Bell Hooks othersociologist.com/2018/09/22/bell-hooks-on-critical-thinking/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell_hooks The focus of Hooks' writing has been the intersectionality of race, capitalism, and gender, and what she describes as their ability to produce and perpetuate systems of oppression and class domination. She has published over 30 books and numerous scholarly articles, appeared in documentary films, and participated in public lectures.

37:37 "Changing the Social Relations of Research Production?" Micheal Oliver. The profit paradigm is the driving force. This paper will argue that research on disability has had little influence on policy and made no contribution to improving the lives of disabled people. In fact, up to now the process of research production has been alienating both for disabled people and for researchers themselves.

20:11 "Trying to Grow" by Firdaus Kanga, The protagonist, who would never grow taller than four feet, finds his way into the world of sexuality and adulthood. It is set in, and humorously describes, the Parsi community in Bombay. It depicts a defiant Indian family with fond memories of the British Raj and everything English.

38:43 Corporate have begun to see a profitable niche for disabled as Anita say "their work quality is much better". Whereas hotel groups look at recidivism and the slow turnover of staff as a big advantage. Lemon Tree hotels have this policy which is working very well for them.
