Pianist, author, composer, and lovable scamp Jeremy Siskind shows how musicians can create colorful harmonies by incorporating notes from minor keys into major tonalities. He demonstrates using the harmonic major scale and the Mixolydian b6 mode (5th mode of the melodic minor) to improvise over these colorful progressions.

The Mixo-flat-6 scale is often called the Major-Minor scale, or even Melodic Major, which is a nice name to use next to the Harmonic Major

Dope! Bro! correct me if i'm wrong but you are playing a real piano yes? How were you able to show the notes/keys visually with an acoustic piano... and IF that is a VST... What the heck is it it sounds amazing... but I think it's a real piano lol

I am playing a real piano. I'm using the "One Piano Hi-Lite" across the keys which detects movements. That's hooked up to "Chordie" on my computer. Check it out - it's cool!

Hm, somewhat similar in that they both have an augmented second in them, but not quite the same set of intervals.

I think of the Mixo b6 scale by it's Indian name Charu Keshi. There are entire full length recordings of only Charu Keshi)
