Thank you very much for this great lesson containing a huge amount of information. As the video is pretty fast paced I'll recommend others to watch the video in steps, pausing and repeating the different parts to get a chance to really listen and practice some of the chords and progression to really get the sound in your ears. There's plenty of gold in little snippet to justify taking your time on this!

Hi! I am a litigation lawyer based out of Kolkata, India. I have a deep interest in Music (specially jazz) and painting. I have been following your lessons over the last few weeks. They have simplified the difficulties of my understanding in jazz. I have started improvising on the cosmic symmetry jazz scale and find it truly life changing. I am forever grateful to your lessons and look forward to learning more.😀

This is the perfect video for me. I didn't realize, but this kind of modal style is exactly what my piano teacher Danny Dobak taught me when I was still taking lessons. Now I can can get an idea of how to expand what I already know about that style to do more with it. Thank you!

Thanks Kent. Great ideas to work on for Equinox. As a guitarist I'm going to try recording the chords in quartal harmony and some inversions, then play some lines on top. This video has given the best approach to playing this tune that I've seen... as well as approaching quartal harmony in general. Thanks again so much. You're the real deal. No b.s. 🙏🕊🌿

Thank you Kent, great as always. Question's: I see that you use the #9 voicing on the (altered #4) twice, on the 3rd & flat 6th of this Cmin scale (left hand). Brings a nice edge. Also, on other posts such as "Wave" you use #9 voicings under the melody a minor 3rd below the melody notes and chase them up the diminished chord iteration. Is there a hard and fast rule you think of, when to choose a quartal voicing or #9 voicing (left hand)...... in certain modes, progressions, keys or song situations ? Curious. Thanks. Love this, its huge in scope.

You really didn't explain this to good,im still not sure exactly what modal jazz is,i thought i learned once that it suspends tonality, but yet here you are harmonizing all over the place. I studied "So What" and noticed how there's really no cadences, it all revolves around D-7 (Dorian) and opens up an improv in this mode, i noticed that MD is using D- and Eb- and thats it
