Fantastic update, thank you Modal and of course Jackson. The new envelopes are a game changer. I've not delved into the world of MPE, but including it demonstrates that Modal are serious about future proofing this instrument. If you guys get around to another update at some stage, I would vote for a few more filters - something slightly left field like the Curtis or SEM filters would be tasty! A thousand thanks again.

A sem or a ota filter would be a great addition to the sound, which is already the warmest and most organic wavetable-sound of modern gear!!

I just received my Argon8 two hours ago! I'm so happy. The keys feel really nice, and the sounds... delightful. Also, I played some bass ... and it was so deep. Thanks Modal for this wonderful synth ... and Jackson for all the demos & help along the way😎👌

Hi there I'm wondering if somebody could answer a question. I've downloaded the extra patches (demonstrating 2.0) from the website, but I can't work out how to upload them to the MODALapp so they can be added to the Argon8. Many thanks.

I really would love to order the Argon8 but for me it would make more sense if I’d be able to make use of breath control. The Hydrasynth is capable of this but I prefer the sound of the Argon8 and prefer to support Modal.

Juzisound breath controller, €200, still cheaper than a Hydra.

@@hollywood4834 The EWI sends out breath control, hydrasynth receives breath control. The EWI is a whole other story than a normal breath controller so I don’t see the point of comparison and why it’s an alternative to a hydrasynth because it’s something totally different (one being a controller, the other being a synth/soundsource).

@@Detroit-Berlin well, its a cheap way to use breath control, as you didn’t mention EWI… as you well know, breath control is still fairly niche so was never going to be an option at this price point, realistically. I absolutely love it on my CS01, but that’s also not exactly EWI territory!

@@hollywood4834 I didn’t mention the EWI, got mixed up with some of my own videos I did on the EWI controlling a breath control receiving device. Still the ability for a device like the modal argon8 to receive breath control is in my opinion not a big cost. It’s just the ability to choose the midi cc for breath control and assign it in the mod matrix. The hydrasynth lets you do this, its a synth pretty similar to the argon8, it’s not a breath controlling device itself.

Wish I could be enjoying it. Just bought an Argon 8 and straight out of the box I'm getting a "ERROR Voice Boot Please Contact Support" message. So far no response from support. Must be very busy with problems. Very disappointed with this $749 paperweight.

@@ModalElectronics Thanks for your response. Support did respond and asked me to go through a procedure, indicating that it sounded like the firmware was corrupted. I ended up sending it back to the seller for a refund. Maybe I'll try another one at a later date.
