ARGON8's oscillator section bears a lot of magic which deserved to be discovered and explored. Mastering this crucial section of the synth engine is easier than you might think. In our recent webinar, Modal's product expert Jackson explains the vast options to create sturdy sonic fabrics to skulpt exciting custom sounds, no one has heard before.

Just wanted to say I really appreciate Jackson's mastery of synthesis, his passion for sound design and his calming tone of voice. He's an excellent product demonstrator and 'face' of Modal Electronics.

Thanks for sharing these webinars. They are a worthwhile support for your synths and also highlight all the work that you did in making the internals.

I really appreciate these deep dive videos. I've learned so much about programming this instrument, which is deceptively simple at first. The Argon 8 has quickly become my favourite synthesizer for performing with a clarity of sound and easy access to editing. These oscillators are top notch.

Great videos, have watched them a few times over the last month. I'm sold, buying one! Not bought a brand new modern synth for years. I think this is a great product. Well done Modal for making some amazing digital synths. Please make a sampler!

Hi guy's, Is there any chance of Width amount being added to the modulation routing's? it would be a nice touch, provides some lovely movement especially on pads.

Watching this exactly a year after it was posted. It's an excellent deep dive and has really helped me feel more confident about the sound design with the oscillators. Argon 8M is my first wave table synth, I'm way more comfortable with good old subtractive synthesis, but I'm going to go away and try to recreate/build on what is shown here. Thank you!

31:15 How I would make it musical: set lfo 2 to pitch to have vibrato, and use note number to modify lfo 2 rate. So you can have slower vibrato for low notes, and faster for high notes!

Some nice information, thanks. Sometimes it's hard to keep up with what's being adjusted - could you add 'subtitles' explaining what you're doing each time? They needn't stay on screen long, the video can be paused to read them. Also a bit more detail would be nice, e.g. what exactly happens when using Width with stacked voices? And what does Glide do when not in mono?

Following along at 19:48, I can't quite tell what you're doing with the Mod-EG. Working on an Argon8M so things are a bit different. Would be helpful if you had described what was going on as you were doing it. Great video nonetheless! Thank you.

Hey there Apoth, I just assigned it to the OscMod and tightened up the envelope to make a percussive shape (no attack, short decay, no sustain, short release) - nothing too crazy for this sound.

I'm a new Argon owner. I love the sound of the Argon. It's very "clean". I want to pair it with my blofeld. Is there a way to change MIDI out to MIDI thru? Thanks, Chip

Jackson, can we se what can be done with connecting another synth into audio in? Sounds like i could get mono analogue in for extra stereo fxing and play alone with Argon8 sequencer and all. One or the other synth driving the other. Without mixers, interfaces (computers), just two synths. TNX!

Hey I just recently purchased an argon8x and I'm trying to do the modulation chord invert trick you did at the beginning of the video. I just can't seem to figure it out! I can't find a pitch button to hold down... maybe i misuderstood... am i missing a step?

This could come off as a really dumb question but I don't have any hard synths. I'm a trailer composer and sound designer. I use many different things for my sound design including soft synths. Would a hard synth like the Argon8 be a useful tool with the ModalApp? Would modulation and other CC commands within a DAW like Logic be able to influence the ModalApp and the Argon8? I could use the added tool for my SFX and compositions.
