I think the most important thing you can do is to familiarize yourself with all of the adjustable parameters. Understanding how they all interact with each other will truly allow you to zero in on the exact piano sounds you wish to hear. And, especially don’t be afraid to use the ‘Condition’ slider. Careful blending will allow you to add some character to any of the models. After all. How many times have you or many people you know had the chance to play a factory fresh Steinway model D, or C. Bechstein, or Steingraber. And age is what often tends to add character to a piano’s sound, as long as it’s reasonably maintained. I always like to move the ‘Condition’ slider up just a bit to add some life to the sound and prevent too sterile a sound. But, not too much. I do not like listening to a piano that is noticeably out of tune.
