When I drove a 3 series Pete in real live for a while, it had a “winged” or “triangle” hood ornament that would be used to center the truck in the lane. From the driving seat, when the passenger “wing” on the ornament lined up with the white line on the right side of the road, the truck was centered in the lane. Like sighting down a gun barrel with iron sights.
