The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a 2011 action role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It is the fifth main installment in The Elder Scrolls series, following The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (2006), and was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 on November 11, 2011.
The game is set 200 years after the events of Oblivion and takes place in Skyrim, the northernmost province of Tamriel, a continent on the planet Nirn. Its main story focuses on the player character, the Dragonborn, on their quest to defeat Alduin the World-Eater, a dragon prophesied to destroy the world. Throughout the game, the player completes quests and develops the character by improving skills. The game continues the open world tradition of its predecessors by allowing the player to travel to discovered locations in the game world at any time, and to ignore or postpone the main storyline indefinitely.

PSA about the difficulty issue: The difficulty issue is a well known bug that was introduced by SkyUI / SKSE (don't recall which one introduced it, my bad) when Skyrim updated to version 1.6.1130. The difficulty slider in Settings > Gameplay does not show up and, if it does show up, it doesn't do anything. To fix this issue, download the mod SkyUI SE - Difficulty Persistence Fix in Nexus Mods.

I'm 45 mins in, I don't know if the difficulty setting problem has been resolved but if not, try downloading 'SkyUI SE - Difficulty Persistence Fix' because it can make bugs like missing features in gameplay options reappear and take actual effect. Like you exited from an interior cell and the options reappeared but when you changed the difficulty it didn't seem to take effect so maybe the mentioned mod (fix) could help So at 1 hour, you accidentally attacked friendlies and they turned hostile. If that's going to be a persistent annoyance then I recommend downloading 'simple offence suppression' and also the ingame mcm option for it, 'Simple Offence Suppression MCM'. Also I cannot live without 'To Your Face' mod which disables npc from talking to you when you just randomly pass by them, basically only allowing them to speak to you when you're facing them (Lovin the content btw)

if u want to experience modded skyrim bugfree and without headaches i recommend u to check out some wabbajack modlist that will auto install for u, Lorerim if u want a complete modern action version of skyrim, or Nordic souls if u want a vanilla plus experience but with amazing graphics
